everything you get make this simple to do and its easy to do and it works great I used a cheaper product and I needed to replace them when I changed my plugs.

Easy enough to use and more cost effective than replacing the cylinder head. Just make sure you do it right so it doesn’t pop out again!

The drill bit didn’t fit in the guide I had to put the guide in the vise and drill it out to get it to fit through leaving the drill bit dulled. After drilling that out got to put it in the engine the guide didn’t fit in my spark plug hole on my 2001 f150 with 5.4. So I got ballsy tried to go free hand needless to say I’m putting a new head on and sending it back. I believe it to be counterfeit because it works perfectly on the YouTube videos of mechanics showing how it works. I think this is a good kit but please save yourself the headache and buy from calvan on a reputable tool site not amazon

One insert was different size and they where different color than pictured still a good set for a couple plugs

Received the kit and the ream was “USED “ Contacted the manufacturer and the lady was very less than helpful I was willing to buy a new one but I got no where with her It works well and probably even better if I had a new tool to use

At first I was a little skeptical, but once receiving the cal-van kit, I could see that it was definitely top-notch. I watched several YouTube videos on installation as well as the one provided by the company before installation . As you can see from the pictures, the original helicoil is on the left of the spark plug and the new cal-van insert is on the right ( its upside down on purpose and was installed the other way) you could see a huge difference in the quality and size. You can also see on the second picture that there is a chunk of head missing from the spark plug hole. That is my own fault due to installing two helicoils on top of each other. Unlike helicoil, the new calvan insert becomes one with the head using JB weld ( instructions state using JB weld . I have repaired and driven my F-150 5.4 l for approximately a month with no issues. It currently has 231,000 miles on it. I highly recommend this kit if you have a blown spark plug. Stay away from helicoils!
