Canson XL Series Oil and Acrylic Paper, Foldover Pad, 9x12 inches, 24 Sheets (136lb/290g) - Artist Paper for Adults and Students

I love this paper. I normally use Arches oil paper (and sometimes still do, but is expensive) but thought Id take a risk and give Canson a try. The texture is very nice and the crisp lines you can get with this paper are unmatched. I use india ink and alcohol ink on this. Its not the typical use for this paper but Im really diggin it! Very happily surprised at how much I like this paper! Ill definitely buy more.

Thick pages, very sturdy. Very happy customer.

I am fairly new to painting and was searching for something to use instead of canvas for practices. I am quite pleased with this product And will continue to use it. Are use thick acrylic paint which I thin with water and extender, the pages did not warp or buckle. I am very pleased. It took about 24 hours until corners started to curl and I do see a little rippling. I understand that if you paint the back with gesso it will prevent the warping and curling. I will try that. I still like this paper for practice painting and do plan to continue to use it.

This paper has a great weight to it. It absorbs paint well. Works great with oil pastels.

Upon taking this out of the box, I saw that the paper was not bound to the cover. It was falling apart in two places. I was disappointed bc this was supposed to be a gift and I thought that the paper would be bound to the cover so that all the paintings could be kept together.
