> 3 dayIf you have any suspicion this solder is all just hype, you are correct. Dont make the same mistake I did, and just get something cheaper. Its not horrible, sure. What I cant get over is that I spend over $20 a small roll of solder only to finish my project with the Radio Shack brand solder Ive used for a year. Thats because while this solder does flow, everything else just flows better.

> 3 dayNow I have no clue if it really performs better than any other solder but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy knowing I used a fancy name brand. It physically solders very well and even a nonprofessional weekend warrior like myself can make beautiful connections.

Greater than one weekAs I expected. Very little silver content. This explains why the dont list it. And the rosin core stinks.

> 3 dayI wanted to try an actual silver solder but have always heard they were difficult to work with. Not so for this one, although I am using an X-Tronic work station, not a pen type iron, so at 75 watts it has headroom. I cant tell the difference between this and the Wonder Signature I normally use.

> 3 dayPros: Excellent solder found that it melted the best at 350 degrees. I used it mainly for through hole soldering and had very few problems. Flows very smoothly. The silver content is high enough that it conducts very well. This solder reworks extremely well had a couple of fowl ups and had no issue fixing them, Cons: There was a lot of shrink wrap holding the solder together and it took forever to remove. Something that i noticed but was not an issue was the amount of flux that the solder contains internally not terrible just more then i was used to.

> 3 dayI have used a variety of solders over the years. Problems using the wrong solder can include the following: poor connections and brittleness, difficulty with heating the solder to the right temperature, especially if it contains the wrong combination of ingredients... which many do for the average user. This Eutectic Cardas solder melts fast, heats well, gives you nice connections... its just easy to use and very effective: Yes it costs more, but its soooo well worth it! Sheerness? What are they asking you to say here? I dont know.

12-04-2025A friend turned me on to Cardas solder when I began building my own microphone preamps for my recording console. The solder that you use is part of the signal chain and an important factor in these types of builds so I wanted top notch solder and I got it. It came very quickly and after my first use i was really impressed! You cant go wrong with Cardas. Its the best in my opinion. Money well spent!

> 3 dayThe real Cardas is on the right. Cardas solder flows much better than this and doesnt have nearly as much flux. This acts like its lead free solder, its very difficult to melt. The amount of flux is ridiculous. Bottom line, youre paying for Cardas quality, and getting a very cheap knock off!
