Greater than one weekWhat a great way to introduce poetry to kids!!! Ive loved the Classical Baby series as much as my kids ever did, and Ive watched this one on my own as many times as I have with my children! A great mix of literature, art, music, and acting.

Greater than one weekGreat video. Not too long. Exposes kids to great poetry and beautiful animation. I also love that there are interviews with children, so my daughter gets to see their expressive faces as they talk about poetry.

> 3 dayThis is an excellent product that I wish I found a few years ago as my daughter is now 4 1/2. Initially when I first opened it I watched it by myself, which I often do before handing over to my little ones as it is less of censoring but more to preparing myself for likely questions. When I first watched it I was worried that my daughter might not find it interesting enough as the graphics does feel like its gear towards a younger audience. However, she watched it for the first time today and she was mesmerized! Between each poem it showed interviews of little childrens view about poetry, I think that makes my daughter feels more interested as the I-want-to-know-because-other-kids-know syndrome kicks in... Now, I cannot comment on how much longer this DVD can hold her attention as she has only watched it once, I plan to give this DVD to her every morning while she eats breakfast until she asks me to stop! Each poem is beautifully read by actors, it is not dumb-down at all, especially the last poem How Do I Love Thee? (Sonnet 43) by Elizabeth Barrett Browning read by Gwyneth Paltrow moved me to tears when I watched it the first time. One thing that I would love to have with this DVD is to have a booklet with all the poems/lyrics listed out for the parents, and even some analysis on each of the poems, as I have never learnt any of these poetries before (English is my second language) I will not be able to recite or teach my child the contents without the written copy in front of me. Because currently there is nothing, not even a list of the titles of the poetry is listed anywhere in the box except showing at the end of the video. I guess it is time for me to do some home work to make this DVD even more perfect!

> 3 dayAll Classical Baby shows - now including this one - are favorites of my daughter. A welcome alternative to barely educational cartoons!

Greater than one weekThe other classical baby episodes are excellent, but this one is not. It feels like a grownup telling a kid what they should be interested in instead of being something that kids (much less babies) would genuinely like. We have all 6 episodes and play all of them weekly except for this episode that we have to skip over. It is not worth watching

Greater than one weekmy 14-month-old has been watching this video since about 6-months of age, whenever i cut her nails. it was also the only thing that calmed her down when we had to give her masked breathing treatments for an acute illness at 6-months. she absolutely loves the brief kids interviews and even favors one particular girl and boy; she gets giddy whenever they come on. i find the short interviews (several seconds; up to 1/2 minute maybe?) to be wonderful transitions and good pacers. the children actually seem quite bright. i talk to my daughter about the video while cutting her nails; she has actually learned a lot of receptive language from the interactions. my husband and i really like the variety of poetry and animation, as well as the different voices performing/reading the poetry. very well presented. we really, really, really, wish there were more poetry videos to come. we also have the set of 3 (dance, art, music), but this one has always been the most captivating for our daughter.
