I had some trouble figuring it out, only because I basically know nothing about optical fiber networking, the ins or outs. But I figured it out. I am reading my speeds at 1000mps. Very happy:)

If you dont feel like paying for and programming a switch with SFPs on each end of a lengthy network run, these are a great solution. They can run on PoE at each end, or a barrel plug adapter that supplies anywhere between 12V and 48V (typical PoE range). I was able to confirm gigabit speeds with these 10/100/1000 Mbps adapters. These do use a single strand of single mode fiber, meaning they dont support full duplex communication, however this was not an issue for me. The fiber connections on these are SC Simplex female. Seeing as single mode fiber is able to carry a signal much farther than copper, these are just what you need for a lengthy run, like to connect two buildings. These are made of metal, and feel durable. They are small, and simple to tuck away. I feel no hesitation in recommending these.

This review seems to apply to both the T-Base 1000, as well as the T-Base 10/100 model, as I wrote a review of that one previously and when I opened this one to review it the other review populated the form. So, I will edit it to cover both models, The comments concerning the CQENPR Ethernet PoE Media Converters included in this pair being in nice looking very durable metal cases applies to both, as the cases are identical. If they are used with PoE on each end they are extremely compact. They are also very light weight. So, they can unobtrusively be installed almost anywhere. The status lights are utilitarian and provide the needed information. These now have both been tested with a full 100-meter cable. I did not use PoE, but external 12V DC power cubes for this test. They can accept up to 48V. They perform flawlessly and to specification. My suspicion is they will run cooler with the lower voltage. But I have not confirmed this. As the circuitry and laser are physically in this unit the voltage must likely be stepped down from 48V internally to drive the circuitry, which would produce more heat. If driving via PoE and the converter is a significant distance away from the PoE injector more voltage will be warranted to assure at least something approaching 12 volts reaches the converter. My intended application is actually to use these along with a 100-meter fiber cable to electrically isolate a computer from remote sensors and control circuits in an area which is susceptible to frequent lightning strikes. I do not need a high-speed connection there as minimal data will be passed. I was initially going to use the 10/100 model. But now, as it will give me extra overhead I will upgrade to the T-Base1000 model. Running a standard ethernet cable this long requires much more complexity. Also, because we are on top of a mountain, but also generally speaking, making a copper connection between the two locations will create a surge and electrical grounding problem. You do not need a direct lightning strike to create serious problems. Nearby lightning strikes, sometimes even over a mile away, can give rise to in-rush situations and very significant potential differences between two widely separated locations. This can easily damage sensitive computer switching equipment, and even the computers themselves. In short, if using copper, no matter how I do it I will run a risk of having component damage. Overall, these units do what they are supposed to do over the tested distance. The T-1000 model is the better value as compared with competing manufacturers similar units. The T-10/100 is a little pricy for the feature set. Both are quite compact, which can be an added bonus in many cases. Collectively, I can easily award five stars. If you need a compact PoE, or powered, single mode media converter either model can be a good choice.

They are small, unobtrusive, and they provide plenty of power. I needed it for an access point that I put in my house and love it. Much easer than trying to deal with either external power, or the expense of a POE switch. . . Will work with security cameras too as long as they support POE (which a lot of home consumer cameras dont, so make sure yours does befor you go buying the wrong stuff). Great little device!

These are hi-tech and marvellously robust as well as compact for all the features they have. A specialised product but if you need these theyre great as they do all one needs from them. A great product. :)

I have only tested these on the bench, but they seem to work just fine. I was concerned from other reviews that I may have only gotten a 10/100MHZ unit, but these are 10/100/1000MB units. I do want to test them in the field and check the range and actual throughput. I connected them to a regular 802.3af/802.3AT POE switch and after a quick boot up they worked just fine. Really handy idea, it saves having to use a regular media converter with SFP, another power adaper and etc. They really are just plug and play. Great Idea, and really nice product. I will update this review if my field testing turns up any problems.

These PoE media converter work great and they are of good value. I got this product to use with my computer for my security system.

I had to purchase a NetGear switch because I have a security camera thats powered over Ethernet (POE). I can say, so far its been working well using this device. I must say that so far, Im loving it and appreciating the fact that Im absolutely sure its cheaper than a switch! I think I paid over $300 for the GS110TPP switch. Im hoping this lasts but only time will tell. So far so good and a great alternative to having to purchase the expensive switches! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a security camera that requires POE as its source of power.

The pair of converters allowed me to run fiber optics from my house to my shop about 350 feet. I didnt notice any losses over that distance. These allowed me to have internet in my shop without having to add another account with my service provider.

We are using NDI PTZ cameras for a studio set-up that use POE. These converters worked well to extend the range in for a longer run and provide additional options instead of a full managed switch .
