I resisted having to buy a program but Im so glad I did. This program does so much more than just watch Blu-ray DVDs. Manage home videos, photos, play regular DVDs, use to play on your television or PC. It was easy to set up and works very well. It may seem pricey but its well worth it, especially the more you use it, the cheaper it becomes per use!

Not only does this software make an excellent DVD player out of my PC, but it also allows me to stream all my media files to my surround sound system. I can setup playlists and have my favorite music with a simple click of my mouse. I am very happy with this software. I give it 5 stars!

I find this entire product odious. What they are selling: the world What you are buying: an opportunity to buy the world, maybe. In the end, you are getting an interface for your pre-existing DVD player. That you can have forever. What is also eternal is the opportunity to upgrade it as the barrage of pop ups and emails you get will advise you. The feature -- the cloud storage, the enhanced visuals, the 8K are yours for a trial period. But dont worry, you will be hocked to death with opportunities to purchase them. There is nothing here in the basic kit that you dont already have if you have a DVD player. This will NOT upgrade your existing hardware to 4K (which they suggest on the page -- I was gullible). This will, with the proper buy-in, allegedly up your capabilities to stream 4K (which might be more dependent on what you are streaming to than what you are streaming with, although I dont know). Ill take it on faith. I wont use the free samples, because I totally resent the upsell. I feel exactly about this as I do about time-share sales. For just a little more you can get a little more. In the end, you get a weekend a year in a shared apartment. Not for me. I will probably uninstall and be smarter next time. If it aint on the page -- theres a reason. The page offers no system requirements and when you get the box, you get the list. And the shaft. Ultimately, every time I tried to play from my videos, the computer froze, and once even gave me a blue screen of death. When it relaunched, I used my Windows media player which worked JUST FINE. This is a horrible horrible program which I have now uninstalled. JUST SAY NO.

Theres a reason I bought a Blu Ray player for my home theater instead of using a PC for it. And Cyberlink reminded me why today. I got this software installed without an issue. Tried playing a movie. No luck. Saw that there was an update. Had to register and give them my name and email. Had to log in which required setting a password (so dont give them a bogus email or youre out of luck for software updates). Updated the software. Had to hard reset my PC since the update blacked out the screen and I couldnt get it back. Tried to download and run the update again because it can only download in their special tool instead of as an executable that anyone can run. Got an error saying the download wasnt currently available. Figured Id try to play my blu ray again for fun. Got the same error saying my computer couldnt playback HDCP content. NVidias control panel disagrees. So does Cyberlinks own advisor tool. Oh, but Cyberlink says on the download page for their advisor tool that its a best guess and they dont guarantee the results. Googled. Saw that it might be because I had two monitors. Switched my settings to only display on one monitor. Still wont work. Cyberlink PowerDVD 22 is awful. Forcing me to register after I enter a license key is stupid. Either I have the license key and a valid copy of the software or I dont. If you want me to download the software directly from you dont give me a disc and license key in the box (btw, I was pretty happy to see a disc and license key - I much prefer that method of install since it works offline which is a huge benefit since I normally stream unless the internet is out). Hiding updates behind a registration and account wall and then only allowing those updates to run through your special software is horrible. This software is a waste of time not only right now but in the future when i have to unsubscribe from whatever marketing emails cyberlink sends my way. Dont bother

The software is an excellent media library manager and player, it has processing that really makes UHD amazing to look at and watch. Its fast to install and plays just about everything in great quality, using HW acceleration where it can.
