Aqua Quest I hope you read this review, ok I have had this tarp now for about 1 yr now and its the 15x15 version in camo, and and I have really put this thing to the test. I am pleased but not pleased with its design, it could be way better if it had a redesign. This thing is heavy, and I mean heavy, almost 17lbs heavy, this is not a tarp to put in your pack, it will have to be carried on the outside of your pack tied or buckled in place on top or under your pack. This thing is thick and takes up a lot of space. This tarp is not good in high winds, I have set this tarp up in multiple configurations and each time the wind ripped it off the loops and, out of the ground and it started flapping around. it is great that it is water proof and has a rubberized back on it, I love that its completely water proof, its just not great during the winter when set up as a tent gets bad condensation. so this is how I would fix thisese issues: 1. The sewn in tie out loops are to big and have a huge loop, make them smaller and add more of them around the tarp. there is not enough tie outs on the 15x15 tarp. there are simply not enough tie outs on this tarp to be of use. there needs to be extra tie outs all the way across the tarp at each tie out location starting from the edge going all the way across the tarp at even intervals. there should be a minimum of 7 tie outs on each side and 7 across the tarp at each location starting from one edge going to the other edge, right now there are only 5 tie outs on each side not near enough to be useful. 2. the flimsy small tent style pegs sent with it bend super easy and immediately need to be upgraded to something thicker, I would recommend you go buy some of those huge nails about finger to thumb thickness from home depot they work best. 3. this tarp does not come with tie out guy lines so you will have to buy your own Aqua Quest if you read this please add guy ties with this tarp at a minimum of 14 guy ties. 4. it is water resistant, but when formed into a tent shape or used above the ground as a tent style setup, it gets super bad condensation during the winter or summer. it does not breathe which is fine but wow crazy condensation, not even sure that can be fixed. 5. Weight this thing is massively heavy, this thing weighs about 17 lbs its not light, it is good if you go car camping or hammock camping, but not used in a backpack while out hiking. 6. the stuff sack: this thing is super hard to go back on the tarp when it is folded back up and correctly rolled up, the stuff sack needs to be a little bit bigger around, its a pain to put the tarp in and take out of because of how tight it is. I had to get my dad to help me, he had to hold the tarp while I yanked on the stuff sack to get it out on the first use, never mind trying to get it back in that was even a bigger pain then taking it out. granted its good and water proof like the tarp, but its just too small and needs to be a bit bigger around to get the tarp in and out of. thanks for reading, Red Fox Outdoors

Bought this last minute before a two week overloading trip. Have used it several times for week long excursions since then. Have been impressed with the ruggedness, waterproofing, & versatility of this tarp. Its been thru several hour long downpours & storms that were downright scary to be out camping in. Have pitched it tight enough to worry about ripping out the loops w/ 50 MPH gusts in sideways rain for hours & hours during the night, but its held up awesome w/ ZERO damage! Besides being a bit dirty from heavy use, its still like new & would look brand new if I cleaned it up. For the price, I was expecting a few uses & tossing it out once it started failing, where I was going to buy a Name Brand tarp to replace it; Ill actually be buying a larger one of these for winter camping this coming Christmas & New Years.

I have the 13X10 ft, and the 15X15 ft. Smaller one for solo trips, larger one for groups. I love gear that consistently performs under any conditions and these tarps deliver on everything I need. The only downside is the price and the weight, but I can assure you that these are an investment you will not regret after the first trip or two. The reliable quality makes up for the weight. Take care of them and they will last you a long while. You wont find a more durable, waterproof, and customizable tarp with as many loops as these!

Bought the Defender since its supposed to be the heaviest duty tarp out there. I dont know if these are overrated or if I just got a bad one from lack of quality control, but I went to pitch the tarp in my sunny, 100% grass backyard only to see holes in the tarp. 1 star and waste of time.

I am an Avid Outdoorsmans, Bushcrafter, and Videographer. I spend 50 or more days in the wilderness every year. Hands down these are my go-to tarps. I use them as both a shelter to sleep in, over a hammock, or set up as kitchen or gear storage. I have five of them and where other tarps have failed me, these have weathered the storm. Whether you are a day-tripper or professional for any season they have you covered. So if you need a tarp? This is the one. No, I was not paid to endorse this product, I buy them just like everyone else.
