> 3 dayThis is a heavier, less portable Doxie sibling. Double-sided scanning, 300 or 600 dpi in color or monochrome, it is larger than I expected. Earlier models offered onboard storage and computer-free scanning. Really, though, I am not scanning on the road and don’t need wifi scanning, so having a desktop model, that needs wall power, is OK with me. Software can export to PDF with OCR, can adjust exposure parameters and control scan parameters. I had problems with an older Doxie, when I was outside the US. I replaced it with an Epson scanner that was available locally. This had major issues maintaining a USB connection and ugly software [like windows not scaling to the available screen size] [full disclosure: I bought this Doxie in pre-sale, for a reduced price]

> 3 dayThe Doxie Pro is the third Doxie scanner Ive owned in the past decade and is by far the most flexible and feature-filled. It takes seconds to scan a stack of papers into Evernote, for example. I just run them through the document feeder and it automatically determines if individual pages are single- or double-sided, black and white or color, then staples them together in a pdf. Then its one click to send them to Evernote (or wherever you want to store your docs). The software is intuitive and has a very clear look & feel. The other feature I love is the direct feeder for thicker paper, photos or business cards. Instead of feeding from the front and coming out the back, it feeds in the front and comes out the front, so you can put it at the edge of your desk and not lose papers out the back. The portability, the feeders, the software and Doxies terrific customer service make this scanner an excellent choice.

> 3 dayOne of my resolutions is to finish decluttering my home office while increasing my security, and the Doxie Pro is turning out to be the perfect tool for the job! Works -outstandingly well- with a Mac (the software honestly feels like its from Apple - its fully integrated into the operating system and just works). Im migrating from an old ScanSnap that was scanning to the cloud, and this scanner works as well (if not better) for significantly less. I can easily move it between my Mac mini at my desk, to my MacBook Pro at the kitchen table, which makes it much more convenient. Does a much better job at providing options (unstaple / staple multiple page scans is fantastic!) and now Im scanning into a secure shared database (DevonThink 3) than unsecured into a 3rd party cloud service. The Doxie also does a great job with pictures (better than the ScanSnap and approaching or exceeding my old flatbed scanner - which I virtually never use because it takes up too much desk space). The Doxie customer care team is proactive to communicate with the customer to make sure that theyre not having problems using the device - I felt much more like an individual customer. Im absolutely enjoying my purchase, and looking forward to finally getting rid of the rest of the piles of documents for the new year (and keeping them from building up again!).
