Works as intended. The quality of the pcb and soldering were decent on this. Case is pretty solid. Did some firmware flashing and had no problems using this. The drivers are available on their website.

If you need to fix a bad flash on a FPV Reciever , like Express LRS 2.4 Ep1 Or Ep2 recievers, this will work. I used it to correct a bad firmware flash on a Happymodel EP1 2.4ghz reciever.

Works very well to flash my Sonoff SV. The build quality of the device is great

Used it to program esp8285 that I have extracted from no-name smart outlet, now it serves better purpose as remote speaker controller.

My original USB TTL dongle also purchased on Amazon over a year ago was apparently bad from reading reviews of that item. I decided to spend a few extra bucks and get a better version since I do a lot with routers and messing with OpenWRT. Also into Raspberry Pi now so I figured Id get a good one this time. Worked perfectly and I saved my EdgeRouterX last night. Just remember you have to cross the TXD and RXD connections for it to work. Also look on YouTube for tutorials and specifics for your model device.

I bought this after my prior (allegedgely 3.3V) serial cable stopped working after being connected to a 3.3V system. This is very nicely made -- its enclosed in a clear enclosure (no worries about stray wires shorting out while tinkering) and lets you select 1.8, 3.3, or 5V out (no 2.5, though DSD has another unit that adds 2.5V as well.) A cable is inclued that connects to the I/O header on the end of the USB adapter that is terminated in 1x1 female header pins -- its about a foot long. While Im not a fan of blinky lights, at least youll know this adapter is working. Ive had no issues working with a Raspberry Pi as a console cable and also programmed a 2.5V arduino-type microcontroller successfully. I use Linux and no drivers were required out of the box, just plug an play.

This is a useful little tool to flash firmwares on other devices. I personally will be playing around with mac addresses on my old network cards. I will report back if I manage to break this; but for now its working as intended. This is a specialized device; its not for those who dont understand programming or debugging or SPI / TTL interfaces.

Using this to program my Arduino. It looks solidly built, I like that it has a 3.3 and 5V option. While not the cheapest of these serial modules, it looks like a high quality and the couple of extra dollars seem to be worth it. One thing that is really wrong with it is the wire colors. Normally youd have red for positive and black for negative. Because the ribbon cable color scheme does not correspond with the power pins, inserting the cable one way and positive is white and negative is red. Inserting the cable the other way the and positive is orange and negative is green. This is a disaster waiting to happen. Because of the color confusion and the fact that you can put the cable in either way, i deducted 1 star

I picked this over other cables/converters mostly for the voltage selector, and it worked perfectly for my use case. I wasnt entirely sure which voltage my project required, so having a selector was great -- it also allows it to be reused for multiple projects. The cable it comes with doesnt fit all the way onto the pin header cause it seems to be getting stuck on the plastic case; but that wasnt a deal breaker for me, and my individual Dupont wires connected and pushed all the way onto the header just fine.
