But for work boots or baseball gloves, this product will make the leather will become softer, more supple, much less likely to crack; the leather will not absorb moisture and dissolved salt. But you will lose the ability get the item to shine. To get all of the above, and a preserve the ability to shine, talk to your dress shoe manufacturer for the proper regimen and materials. Most of the finer shoe manufactures make there own balm, cream paste, and some have a final shine product as well.
