In need of a larger end mill for a smaller CNC router, and this worked perfectly.

I purchased this for a CNC router. I measure all my endmills prior to using them and this one came in just shy of the stated 1/4. To me this is not an issue because I always enter the real diameter of the endmill into my CAM software. I have never found an endmill that has been exactly to specifications advertised, but I do not purchase $100+ endmills because for what I do, the software corrects for inaccuracies in the diameter. This endmill works great on hardwoods and plywood. I prefer the straight flute type for wood because I do not get any tear-out and this one leaves a nice clean finish. It also works great at cutting HDPE plastic.

Well, I buy Freud for the quality and long lasting bits. Not the case here, snapped while I was using my router table. Used this bit maybe 6 times I contacted Freud in hopes they will make this right, I’ll update when I hear back. ***Update, been almost a month and Freud still has not gotten back to me, lost a customer forever. Hopefully you think twice before wasting your money on a company that doesn’t care for there customers. ***

In my opinion you just cant beat Freud. This bit is so much better than the craftsman bit I was using until it broke the other day. I wish the old bit had broken ages ago!

Freud solid carbide. Great product that will last as long as you do your part. ( Dont jam feed your work into it) Any 1/4 inch bit can be broken if you are careless.

fast delivery and a good price

I was able to complete the job i needed it for. But...I ran it at its recommend rpm and got alot of burning and the blade went dull fast or was very dull to start with. Felt like I got a bad since it was burning the wood from the time I started to use it. Freud bits are suppose to be nice and I plan to give them a second chance on another bit since this is the first freud bit I have purchased.
