Is reliable and does transfer pretty fast (was able to transfer about 62 gb from laptop to device in about 10 mins) , but not as fast as some others out there (transfer speed seemed to cap out at 130 MB/s) that may or may not cost more money. It reads well on my laptop and I would recommend. For those who want to travel with or just dont like how bulky it is you are able to take off the protective rubber/armor. It also doesnt seem to heat up as much as my other 1 tb hard drive.

Moderate read / write speed for a spinning drive, can not be RAIDed or daisy chained, solid & rugged work / storage mobile drive for the money

good job, WD! operates @43 deg Cel. while running backup, standing on end, letting the aluminum top and bottom for best hear dissipation. works well within specs for a 5400 rpm HD. rugged enough to not worry about ex running over it with her car or truck.

Ive had this product for less than a year and it is already slow to useless. When I attempt to transfer files off of the hard drive, it crashes my Mac (computer turns off and restarts with error message). Sometimes I manage to get it to work for a short time, but then it freezes up and crashes the computer again.

Horrible product!!! DO NOT PURCHASE!! I plugged it in to back up all my files for my Masters degree. Super slow, didn’t transfer half and now I have a connection error every time I plug it in. Will be throwing this out and purchasing through Apple like I did for my other external drive! Extremely disappointed!
