Product works as advertised. Service and delivery were excellent.

I fly as a pilot over remote areas and thought this might be a useful addition for safety reasons. Turns out it is not so useful, given the unit price and service plan cost.

This is perfect for solo backpacking. Husband can keep track of me and help is there if I need it! But hopefully I will never need to push that button!

Still learning about all about it, but so far I have nothing bad to say about it or the website in which all your planning takes place. Used to using the Suunto Ambit series for my adventures, this is a massive upgrade to say the least. Sat comms via text and the PLB function of the device is paramount these days.

I bought this device because my boyfriend loves to hunt and we enjoy road trips and hikes. In comparison to the other devices available, I loved all the features that were available on this device and that it had a big visible screen. I am naturally a planner and service can be sketchy in some neighborhoods. I also work in a field that is involves me going to communities with poor service. Safety and accessibility to communicate with others is my number one priority. Other than the prices per month, I am happy that Garmin gives you options for service and you can do yearly, monthly or month to month service. It makes it easy to plan a trip and not have to be fixated on a month to month or yearly contract. Great buy!

Ive used Garmin products for years so it took a little getting used to this as its not integrated into the Garmin maps and products like Basecamp yet. The messaging works well. The included maps are very detailed. Well worth the price for the piece of mind knowing you communicate anywhere in the world.

Fantastic device worth its weight in gold for remote bush adventures. Solar panel + cell phone (if you like to text) + Garmin inReach and youre SET for an adventure while staying in touch. Never had to use the emergency function. Make sure you get the appropriate plan. The Garmin inReach website interface is great, with geotagging your text locations with coordinates, social media integration, etc. BAttery life was really good and no problem with signal. I could use it inside the 3 season tent without concern but outside was always most reliable. Highly recommended.

Very helpful for backcountry hunting. GPS texting works very well. If you want a highly precise track of travel your battery will only last a couple days. I use way points more often instead and it works fine.
