Exactly as described and what I expected.

Garmin is evil. I signed up for an annual plan at $11.99 per month. After 6 months my car was broken into and my inReach stolen. I called Garmin and they say I still have to continue paying for my annual contract or I can cancel now, but I will have to pay the remaining contract balance.

Bought for my son, and his hiking adventures. He is super thrilled!!

The product can in two days, that was great! It was a real piece of mind when my husband went wilderness trekking with three of our children, first that I could track where they were, I could communicate daily, and if anyone got hurt, the panic button as there. Dont hike without it!

I purchased this for a hunting trip in Maine. Worked great. Havent had to try the SOS feature (thankfully). Was fairly easy to set-up, just took about 15 minutes. If you plan to use it for offroading recommned using the bluetooth and Garmin Earthmate app on your tablet.

Great quality, superb battery life. Very happy with this purchase.

Buy the mini instead. There is literally no reason to buy this device over the mini. If you thought you could add other maps (e.g. TOPO 24k, OnX) you cant. You also cant pair this device with many/any other Garmin devices. This seems to be a technological dead end with Garmin. Go with literally any other inReach-compatible product.

I recently used this on a transatlantic voyage. It worked great for texting with family on shore. Battery life was very good.
