Garmin Edge 830, Performance GPS Cycling/Bike Computer with Mapping, Dynamic Performance Monitoring and Popularity Routing

This is literally the worst piece of technology I have ever had the misfortune of owning. Constantly disconnecting, freezing up, resetting itself, etc,etc. I despise it and wish I could bring myself to smash it with a rock.

Veio conforme a descrição do vendedor. Super recomendo. Tela sensível ao toque e com possibilidade de bloqueio de toque. Resistente a chuva e ao pó. Fácil de usar após configurar com nossos dados. Apresenta descrição completa de todos os treinos, inclusive tempo de recuperação do atleta. Já tenho a mais 5 meses sem apresentar defeitos. Bateria com boa duração, as vezes dura mais de 3 ou 4 dias, dependendo do tempo de treino semanal.

I have owned many Garmin cycling computer products over the years and they have all proved to be solid and long-lasting. I bought this unit to replace a Garmin Touring GPS that would not connect to my phone so changing routes while on a tour was a challenge. This new 830 unit has that added functionality. The one issue that came up and appears to be fairly widespread is pairing the Garmin with your iPhone 11 running iOS 13. I tried for several hours with no success. I finally hooked the Garmin to my Mac through Garmin Express software and did a software update on the GPS unit and all worked great after that. It would appear that the newer version of the Garmin GPS software addresses this issue, but the unit I had was shipped with the older software installed.

Havent explored all features yet and battery life yet to be tested but happy so far

The features work great, mine was used but only screen protector was damaged. The integration between Garmin Connect and other apps makes it easy to post to MapmyRide, Strava, etc.

Easy to setup and use. Great accuracy, very helpful out on the trails.

I really wanted to like the 830 as its my first bike computer. It seems like I need to power off the device and restart just to refresh the Strava segments...when I can get them to sync. The ambient temperature sensor seems to be 7-8C higher than actual temperature. Battery life is great though. Considering this device is 3 years old and Garmin still didnt fix some of the bugs through firmware updates is pretty bad.

I’ve had the 820 for several years and got discouraged about battery loss over time. Been using the 830 for almost a year now and it’s definitely a major upgrade. Battery life is superior, touchscreen is MUCH more responsive and features like hill climb are fun to mess with. The navigation is also much easier to work with. I almost went to wahoo but decided to give Garmin another chance. Glad I did!

It Garmin is fairly easy to set up. Extremely accurate with its calculations for distance and speed. A must have for all serious cyclists.
