These are high quality OEM garmin connectors. They are designed for shielded cable. Hindsight I think I’d just order the Garmin cable but I was concerned with passing the cable through my deck. FYI you do not need a crossover cable to connect a Echomap 106SV directly to a Echomap plus 73CV. Standard T586B works fine.

If youre handy with an RJ45 crimp tool, please buy these to use your own ethernet cable on your boat instead of Garmins 20x over priced packaged cables. I realize even at the cost of these, for what amounts to a couple plastic boots, its certainly making Garmin a reasonable profit, but at least youre saving something.

This was a lifesaver after having to cut my network cable to snake through the t-top.

These Garmin connectors are life savers for tough to wire situations where you need to thread through hole first then replace the head. High quality design is provided as usual by Garmin, with shielded sleeve grounding tab. It’s not a through head connector but can be crimped easily with professional Cat5e crimper

I had to cut the original one to be able to inset the cable in the pipes. This is a perfect replacement.

The Garmin network uses Cat 6 or 7 network cables. The cable end connectors have a partial metal sleeve around them, which connects via the ground/drain wire to the end on the other end of the cable. There is a lot of Cat 5 cable out there that will NOT work on the garmin network. But for sure, these ends, with the right cable, and you can make your own cables in custom lengths and wont have to buy the garmin cables.
