I have an older Genie garage door opener and this new remote was literally a two-button push (one button push on opener - and one button on remote) to set up. Quick and easy-peasy. Works great!

Works great with my Overhead Legacy 800 garage door opener. Many of the reviews have complained about the range, but so far the range of the Genie G3T-R opener has been great. Ive tried if from over 75 feet away from my garage and it has worked flawlessly. Also, the G3T-R is very easy to program - Just push the LEARN button on the Overhead Legacy 800 unit (Light flashes on the unit) then press the button on the remote that you want to program 2 times to complete the programming - Push the button a 3rd time to engage the door opener - Thats it !!!

I liked that it was not hard to program. I didnt like that there was no other way to program it besides getting on a ladder and doing it physically. But I think that is a garage door thing and not a garage door opener thing.

I like it because they are quite compact compared to their predecessors. The range is about 15-20 feet from the door. I also like them because I can easily put it together with my car key fob rather than sticking it on the sun-visor as Id do with my previous remotes (which is also creates security risks, especially if you park your car on the drive-way over night then it becomes easy target for thieves to break into your home). The instructions to program the remote were very simple and took less than a minute. The product works as expected.

Easy to install

Exactly the same as my previous one, very easy to set up (less than 5min) and now I have one for each car.

Bought two. Was skeptical about these as I had concerns over transmission distance. I got one of these several year ago from a big box store and the buttons are a kind of hard rubber and a bit hard to push. These two remotes from Amazon don’t have that problem and the buttons are “softer” and require Lea force to depress. Distance and button design are just fine. Have been using these for about 6mos with no issues

Small and convenient and very sensitive.

The remote was good, but the buttons are very sensitive. a slight touch/bump of the button will activate/open your garage door without you knowing it. I had to double check my garage door to make sure it is secure/close.

The top button works! Did not have another Genie garage door opener besides the one this remote is intended for, and programming all 3 buttons into the same opener seems kinda pointless... Me thinks Genie uses a rotating code system, marginally more secure than the mini-switch static code setup of yore, should take a determined cracker a few minutes rather than a few seconds to compromise the code. Unit is small, geniune Genie, slightly cheaper after shipping than at big box. So what the hey, did came with battery already installed, only need to pull out them tab blocker thing. Let the opener learn the code, and off we go. Beats handling a long stick held from the open car window lancer style to reach the button inside the garage.
