Genuine Winix 115115 Replacement Filter A for C535, 5300-2, P300, 5300, White/Black

We have the WAC9500 Pet model, so I felt like I was taking a bit of a gamble given the reviews on how the filters would fit into this model. Rest assured they fit snuggly (you have to lose the old cartridge and put the new HEPA and carbon filters directly into the unit), and they work just as well as the $100 Winex replacement filter cartridge Ive previously purchased. After a couple of weeks of use, I can say I cant tell a difference between the two! No funny smells like a few reviews said, maybe just a plastic smell for the first hour after installation but hardly noticeable. Weve had this Winex device in our main living area for over 3 years now, in our 600 sqft apartment and now in our 2500 sqft house, and it does wonders for my husbands pet allergies and both of our seasonal troubles. I will update this review if any issues come about, but otherwise I will definitely buy these filters again.

I have using the Winix machine for over a year. Clean the front screen once a week, replace filters as directed and you will see a difference in your air quality.

Great product for the price

At one time I chose the less expensive generic filter package. The generic was a really bad choice because the carbon filters produced a black dust while installing and the Hepa filter lasted half as long as a branded filter. This filter is easy to install (no dust) and keeps air cleaner for longer.

I read reviews that this filter does not fit the 5500. From the info I could find by doing research on the internet, the 5500 uses Size 21 Filter. The SKU# for the Size 21 filter on the Winix website is: 115115 - which is the same SKU# listed on amazon. When I received my order, the box containing the filter lists a few model numbers that this filter fits and the 5500 is not listed. BUT, it does say it fits all units that use Size 21. I fault both amazon and Winix for not having clear info on this but it explains why amazon has this filter paired with the 5500 on their website. There are dozens and dozens of items for sale on amazon that do not have sufficient and/or accurate info. I would say 75% of the bad reviews that people write are usually a result of the consumer having absolutely no clue what they are talking about. People really need to quit being so lazy and do a little research before you fire off a bad review. If something is not clear on the amazon website, do some research!

I own 3, yes 3 Winix air purifiers (Two 5300 and One 5300-2). I own the (2) 5300 air purifiers since 2015 and I run them 24/7. I own the 5300-2 air purifier since 2019. All three air purifiers use the same model filter (115115 or Filter A) so I only have to buy one type. I guess my house is dirty since I seem to have to replace the main filter every 10 months on all three units. Over the years I have purchase genuine Winix replacement filters and generic brand filters and from now on, I will be sticking to Winix replacement filters. The generic brand filters may or may not fit nice and snug inside the purifiers. I had some generic brand filters that left small gaps and dust was going around the filter. I had dust forming on the fan blades even when the replacement filter was snug. The air quality seems to vary as well. The genuine Winix replacement filters was a lot more consistent with fitment and air filtration. I just bought a new house and replaced all the filters with genuine Winix replacement filters for all three units. The fitment was perfect and the air quality coming out was nice clean air. So yes you can save money with going with generic brand filters but you don’t get the consistency with fitment and air filtration. Yes, the genuine Winix filters are expensive, trust me I don’t like the price either but you get what you paid for. For the record, over the years I’ve bought (6) genuine Winix filters and (6) generic brand filters.

I went with the OEM filters because I didnt want to risk getting questionable quality with a purifier that I depend on for health. Not sure if it is better then other cheaper brands, I just know that they are not of the same quality that came with the machine and they are way over priced for what they are. Way of the world these days.

Ordered this to replace the Hepa filter and activated carbon in a Winix 9500 air purifier. Typed in the make/model under does this fit...., and it stated that it did. Upon installing, the Hepa and carbon filters are about a 1/4 too big each way. It was no big deal to trim down the carbon filters, but had to squash the Hepa in place, leaving some open spots around the outside. The spots are mostly covered by the washable pre-filter, so Im not too worried. After doing a little research, it is my understanding that Winix no longer makes a direct, perfect fit replacement for the 9500, which sort of defeats the idea of air filtration. Other than that, I am happy with the product. Well made, and Im sure will work well enough for what we need.

Bottom line: This is authentic, original replacement filter. Even though I wish the prices would go down on these filter, this is my 3rd time ordering. I have really thought about ordering the after market ones because they are much cheaper, but for my health and the quality of air I breath, I will stick to these. These usually last me 10-12 months. It is amazing how incredibly dirty the filter becomes, which means it is doing its job. It gives me great joy to replace the filter with a brand new, fresh filter to keep fighting the dust fight!
