Scents are a mater of opinion. I like the scent and the balm does a reasonable job at controlling the stray hairs.

I’m a huge fan of the GBS beard wash facial hair shampoo. Based on that and many of the positive reviews for this product, I decided to try it out. I was disappointed. The oil and the balm have a very sugary soda, artificial sweetener-like smell. While I was prepared for something that didn’t smell exactly like bourbon as many of the reviews for this product have stated, what it does smell like is not something I wanted to use. It’s probably a subjective thing, but other sandalwood-based products I’ve tried smell better. I haven’t tried the other GBS oils and balms, and it’s very likely that those are marvelous. I returned this.

This product doesn’t seem to soften up my goatee at all. The smell is light and doesn’t knock you out. Overall for application purposes doesn’t live up to my expectations.

Had a beard for years, but never took care of it. Inspired now, to actually care for my beard, Ive decided to grow it out more, and use the GBS products. - The first positive is that my wife loves this product, and because of that she is now for me growing out the beard. - I have grey hair these days, in my very late 50s, so those grey hairs have a mind of their own. The oil has really helped to tame most of the wild ones, and the balm works on the rest. - My wife likes this scent the best. No complaints, from me.

Amazing! The oil blend smells amazing! And the balm accents the scent perfectly! It also leaves hubby’s beard super soft!

2nd purchase from GBS Again.. wonderful products.. good quality.. scent is light and warm.
