Learning pour overs is a journey. You start out thinking that hard core coffee people are just fanatics and how could these products really make a difference. Well, I’ve learned the various coffee products do make a difference. I started with a Cuisinart grinder and then upgraded to a Fellow grinder (8x the price), and definitely could taste the difference. And in the case of the V60, I started with a Bodum dripper, and I find the V60 much better in taste (near 2x the cost), and I think that has to do with the V60 filter being a cone and funneling the water better through the grinds (and likely other aspects as well). I did notice that the V60 coffee was not as hot, which is because I didn’t preheat the ceramic. BTW, I thought that was another coffee fanatic issue, but yea it’s a thing. The made in Japan quality of this dripper kit is very nice. The glass lid fits the decanter perfect and seems like it will be durable over time. The decanter and lid are esthetically pleasing. The ceramic V60 is also beautiful and well made. It’s great that it came with plenty of filters. Be sure to watch the numerous YouTube videos instructing V60 usage. Making pour over coffee is an art form and fun if you have the interest and the time. Also, you will need a digital scale and pour over kettle to do this in a consistent manner of making coffee.

The V60 truly lives up to the hype. The clarity and smoothness in the coffee it produces is second to none. I like it so much better than a french press or metal filter pour-over. The 02 size easily handles 50g (9TBS whole bean) 750-850g water pour. It could probably handle 60g. The 02 server is only good for 600ml (grams of water and milliliters are the same, 1g of water is 1mL), but the 02 dripper easily fits on top of a 32oz insulated metal cup (Built brand), so I just make it directly into that. Had I known that I probably would have just bought the dripper and some filters or gone with a 03 server. The ceramic has a nice weight that keeps everything stable. I saw a lot of online reviews that talked about how unforgiving the V60 can be. I didnt find that to be true. I use a grind size that is a little smaller than kosher salt. I just use an electric blade grinder and do 15-17 one second pulses. If you want a stronger brew go a little finer. The water to coffee ratio (in grams) is a matter of personal preference. 15:1 to 19:1 is the range. I suggest starting at 17:1 and then making adjustments. A gooseneck kettle isnt absolutely necessary but a scale can really make a difference in dialing in the ratio. Definitely rinse the filter and preheat the dripper and server/mug with boiling water. The only downside to thick ceramic is that it absorbs a lot of heat, but preheating eliminates this issue. Both the dripper and server are easy to clean. The opening in the server is just big enough to get a rag into the bottom, though if you have giant hands it could be problematic. Happy brewing!

Very chic, easy to use and clean.

Great quality, everything made in Japan, gifted it to my boyfriend a year ago and he still enjoy using it a lot. Everything is easy to use, the measurements on the glass is very convenient, and it’s very easy to clean. We are both very happy with this product, definitely recommend if you want to start making hand coffee!

I use this kit all the time, i love it and the quality of the coffee is perfect. I use 205 F, 330 G of water and 20g of coffee beans (weighed not grinded) and its amazing.

What’s not to like? Makes a great cup of coffee, there are lots of videos online on how to make the perfect cup using various V60.
