I have a jumbo sized craftsman tape and a micro milwaukee tape. The Hoto tape is significantly better than the micro tape and almost as good as the craftsman jumbo tape but closer in size to the micro tape. So in summary its a great tape for its small size. Its hold out is about 62 which is impressive given its size and the quality of construction is really really good. No complaints what so ever with the Hoto. It does not come with a belt clip but because of its small size it would be strange if it did have a clip. It fits in the pocket comfortably.

Having a simple clean tape measure is a must for any architect. You never know when you may need a good readable measure. The slim sleek design is wonderful to carry in a front pocket and you dont have to worry about snaging it. The Modern design really shows off well. Locking is perfect and it snaps back quick. Pros:

Not durable enough to use on the jobsite. Its good for a simple home tool box. Hang pictures, measure curtains general around the home use only.

This is just a sweet tape. No clip, no padding, no writing really except for a tiny, discreet designer name. Its self-locking with a simple thumb release, and so far, the self-locking feature works very well. Ive had other tapes with this feature and after a bit of use, the tape starts to creep back in before you release it.

I’ve been looking for a tape measure to fit into a very shallow drawer at my desk. I need metric and imperial measurements. I had settled on the Starrett in the picture. Even with the over molding and belt clip removed on that one it was about 0.01” too tall. Been meaning to knock the case down with some sandpaper until I found this one from HOTO. It is 0.030 slimmer with the rubber over molding and belt clip removed from the Starrett. Meanwhile, the tape is wider and easier to read.

Low amounts of branding, sleek, with a nice retract button.

This is the closest to perfection I have found in a small professional tape measure I can carry around day-to-day for work in my purse for unexpected design emergencies. I have a 35 ft tape measure that I use on the job when I need, but its far too bulky and heavy to tote around on a regular basis.

Not sure if there is such a thing as a high end tape measure, but this just looks luxe. Maybe its the simple black with no big logos or designs. Works great, like every other tape measure, but the look is a little more special.
