This is the best tape measure Ive ever used. The self-locking feature is really nice.

I have a lot of tape measures all over the place but this is the one I keep at my desk.

Obviously not heavy-duty, but it is a nice tape measure for general use. Easy to read, and the plastic case is lightweight but seems pretty sturdy. The measuring tape itself isnt flimsy. It does start to droop a little by its own weight around 3 1/2 feet (starts to get a bit unwieldy around 5 feet), but it doesnt collapse and completely bend in half. Hitting the retract button feels a lot less dangerous than other tape measures Ive had. The stiffness of the measuring tape keeps it from flailing and flopping around even though it snaps back quickly. A little expensive for what it is, but if you just find that you sometimes need a tape measure, this one should do the job for a while.

Works well as marketed with it stopping and holding your measurement. Pulls back tape measure seamlessly as well. Check out the video to see in action. There is a lanyard loop which is convenient but no lanyard is included. Plastic construction is went I recommended for personal use and not commercial. Build quality won’t be the most durable.

I’ve been looking for a tape measure to fit into a very shallow drawer at my desk. I need metric and imperial measurements. I had settled on the Starrett in the picture. Even with the over molding and belt clip removed on that one it was about 0.01” too tall. Been meaning to knock the case down with some sandpaper until I found this one from HOTO. It is 0.030 slimmer with the rubber over molding and belt clip removed from the Starrett. Meanwhile, the tape is wider and easier to read.

I love DIY home projects and it seems like I ALWAYS need a tape measure handy. But of course I can never find one when I need it! This little guy will be a nice addition - on the plus side, its lightweight, but the case is also all plastic (the tape measure itself is metal). The auto locking feature is great and will be useful when your hands are otherwise occupied. The release is easy to use. It doesnt have a belt clip. Its definitely not meant for heavy duty use, but for your DIY projects or to bring to the furniture or home improvement store, its probably fine.

This came in a nice box and is very easy to read and has a get self locking mechanism. 5 stars!
