A beautiful phone, but I had to send it back. This one had a terrible flaw; out going sound CANNOT be heard by recipient, all the recipient could hear was LOTS OF STATIC !!!!! Im gonna re-order from a different seller. Hoping this next phone is DEFECT-FREE !!!!! UPDATE: After ordering another this same phone from a different seller, I can know rate it a 5. This second ordered phone is what I thought it would be: FABULOUS.!!!!

Ive had this phone for 2 days now. Its a great phone. A little taller than most phones but it takes getting used to. Very fast great screen quality. Pictures are really good. Speaker isnt the best but it gets the job done. I activated it with straight talk and you do only get 4g but speed test in my area it runs faster than 4glte. If you are activating with straight talk you have to buy a new Sim card. It is compatible with AT&T. The battery life is great too. I get about an hour for 10 percent of constant use. The notifications are all the same sound. Not sure how to change it. I switched from the Samsung galaxy s8 and this phone runs much smoother and faster than a galaxy s8!

The product is gorgeous and really good for a 200 dollar phone! All my friends think its an iPhone X and the it has great customization features. Plus it comes with a plastic case and a screen protector!

Crisp night shots on the camera, decent battery for my usage (1.5 days give or take). Gorgeous construction and screen. Snappy os and its Android so fiddle away with settings. A month in and Im enjoying this phone a lot. UPDATE: Charger port quit working not even a year into owning the phone. I dont beat on my phone but this is a disappointment. Loved this phone but such a let down.

Really great phone! The only problem Ive had is that when Im using my hotspot, I cant use the data on my phone. Ive never had this problem before, so I can only guess that its the phone. Other than that, I love it!

The honor 8x.. Ive had this phone a few months now and can honestly say one of the best phones Ive had. Came from an iPhone to this. Love that it has the same gestures and movements as the iPhone. Excellent camera with tons of features. Smooth and responsive phone. Facial recog verifys 90 % of the time. Has not bogged or slow down once yet. Plays games/videos with no issues. Im definitely going to try their flagship versions next bc this has been nothing but a pleasure to use.

This is my second Huawei product. I like that for the price point, you get a phone that can stand up to higher priced phones from the Big Three. I tend to abuse my phones as Im a maintenance man and my phones are exposed to dust, vibration, and scratches and drops. Screen: decent resolution. Has features such as blue light reduction. Id suggest getting a screen protector as my last Huawei phone was prone to small scratches. Standard protections should be fine. In the middle of the screen. At the top, the camera is located. Occasionally content is blocked in this upper area. As if the screen doesnt take in account that the camera is located here. Minor, minor issue. Only a problem occasionally when looking at PDF blueprints and manuals. Body: I believe its glass. I could be wrong. But it is beautiful. I love the placement of the fingerprint reader. I added my two pointer fingers and a secondary finger. Even if I scratch up my hands or have glue on them, its fast and responsive. Having the third offset finger really helps in this. Camera: I havent used the camera as much as my Huawei Mate, but so far its AI camera is of quality. Very sharp and detailed images. Im able to zoom in front distance and take pictures of small lables from a distance. My hands shake sometimes (medical issues, chemical exposure) and the sharpening mode really helps. Specially when zoomed in on text. Wifi/mobile data: There are some areas where I wish the antenna was stronger. The Huawei mate seems to have a faster connection. This may be due to the Mate being a version focused to the USA, and the 8x being an international version. Due to the restrictions the U.s. gov is trying to put on Huawei phones. But, in normal use, I dont have any issues. Occasionally Bluetooth fails, but turning it off then back on, it works perfectly. This may be more to do with my cars connection, and not an actual problem with the phone. I just noticed it happens with Huawei phones more than my old Samsung. All in all, its an excellent phone for most uses. Get a case. Get a screen protector. Youll be 100% happy with it. I just abuse phones so Im slightly more critical. I really wish major brands got hip to the game and made a more durable case. Id love something with more shock proof functions.

for the price of the phone, what else more you can ask for? My wife has a new iphone which costed quite a few hundreds of dollars more and has a small dinky screen. The display of this phone is quite large and beautiful. The fingerprint recognition is super fast and accurate. The face recognition feature is nice as well although I dont really use it much. The battery life is good compared to other brands of phones, but not as good as my old Mate 2 which was outstanding. The blue color of the shell looks amazing. The phone is very fast and responsive. The speaker audio mode is quite loud compared to my old phones. For less than $200, you cannot beat it! Or may be by another Huawei phone.

To start, I want to clear up some false information thats being spread on here. I received the JSN L23 version which gets perfect signal on T-Mobile (I get perfect 4G but no LTE) (EDIT: As of an April update I now get 4G LTE). If you live in the US and dont receive the JSN-L23, send it back and get the right version; dont write reviews and answer questions saying it doesnt work. Onto the phone, this will be my first phone review, and I cant say anything that hasnt been said in countless other reviews, so Ill try to be concise: You will probably not find a phone of this quality for under $250. Definitely not if you live in the US (this phone was supposed to come to the US, but the government battling with Huawei has prevented that). The camera is pretty good (for the price, especially), but not Huawei Mate 20 Pro $1000+ good, obviously. If you want the absolute best photography youll have to spend a lot more. The AI enhancements help get good photos, though, and portrait mode is effective. The battery life is amazing so far. I went 15 minutes without draining 1%. Moderate use will get you through a full day, for sure. The downside is that it charges with Micro-USB instead of USB Type-C, so you will not have Quick Charge speed. The performance is very smooth. Multitasking, social media use, and media viewing like YouTube are all quick and snappy with no lag. Gameplay is almost completely smooth with either no or very rare lag on PUBG, though it recommends medium graphics instead of high, so I imagine performance might suffer with high. The phones features and UI being good are subjective; Android purists will not like the customized nature of EMUI. However, if youre coming from iOS or dont care about stock Android, you will enjoy it. Its evolved a lot and is faster than before, and comes with plenty of useful features (e.g., a built in screen recorder, and a phone transfer app that makes moving files from an old phone simple and easy). The display is also gorgeous. Coming from a 2K AMOLED display, it isnt so much of a downgrade to be a deal breaker. Its about identical in function; very bright and sharp. Not as good as displays that cost 3X as much, but its unrealistic to expect that. Audio is surprisingly good. Hardcore audiophiles will want to invest in speakers, but for casual users its above-average quality that translates to good sound in real world use. My Axon 7 with dual front-facing Dolby Atmos stereo speakers is the winner, but that phone is old, and the phones that have those speakers now cost 3X as much as this one. Bottom line, the audio is good enough, but if you want to get the best audio, you might want to get a speaker. Specifically, singing sounds clear enough, but some instruments can sound a bit tinny. But dont get me wrong, you will not be disappointed with the audio. Onto the general aesthetic, the nearly bezel-less 6.5 inch screen looks great. You can also hide the notch if you hate notches. The back of the phone is simply gorgeous. It is unique and looks premium. To conclude this review, I want to say that you will not be disappointed with this phone. For the price, its amazing, and in general it is pretty close to the level of flagships that cost 3 - 4X the price. This phone does not look cheap or poorly-made. It is very premium and will impress people. Huawei redefines the concept of budget phones. There is no real need to pay any more for a phone. Its only missing NFC, wireless charging, Type-C charging, water resistance, and a few other small things. Remember: send it back if you dont get the right version.

Ive had this phone for a few years, and I am about to purchase a different brand phone for more storage options.... But I must give credit where it is due. This phone has worked well and continues to work well consistently. I am sure I still havent explored all of the various features, but it was an excellent, excellent value for a budget phone. I highly recommend it.
