The switch works fine for my wired keyboard on a Vista and Windows 7 PC but when I plugged in a wireless Microsoft mouse, the Vista wouldnt recognize it.

A lot of reviews of this KVM, some good some bad. My experience has been excellent. Ive had it for about a year, and its always worked as advertised. At this price point, there could be some quality control issues, but it also might be sensitive to the types of hardware its used with. I have 2 ordinary PCs, (no laptops), one is a Windows 7 x64 box, the other an older Windows XP machine that dual boots Linux. A pretty vanilla setup. Works perfectly. If you have a setup like mine, and the KVM doesnt work smoothly, Id return it as defective. If your setup is different, then perhaps a somewhat higher end KVM might be a better option. I should note that I have a standard 19 LCD monitor, standard Logitech Mouse, (wired), but my keyboard is a Unicomp, (wired), which costs about $75.00 US, (and worth every penny, if I may say so).

First boot up when connected to my desktop and laptop per the instructions the desktop crashed with a blue screen, and keyboard and mouse were non-operational on my laptop. Both running Windows 7. Second attempt nothing crashed but still could not get keyboard and mouse to function with my laptop. Checked their support page and documentation to confirm that I had followed proper procedure. Dont have the time to mess around with something that should be plug and play. Will be requesting a refund.

This is a very handy little device when you have a small office. Great use of this device is with a server and workstation sharing a monitor, Keyboard and mouse. Also very handy when doing a computer migration (you can switch back and forth between computers). I just realized that I dont have one in my tool kit at the moment so I am going to order another one!

Im only half-competent with software but even I was able to hook up the monitor, keyboard and mouse and connect this to my two desktops. It worked perfectly right away to switch between the two.

We like that it is simple to use, and has minimal degradation in screen quality.

And another failure right out of the box. Only one of the 2 PCs connected has use of the mouse and keyboard. I have NO other peripherals plugged into the offending PC. IOGEARs website is less than useless for support and the support department only works bankers hours leaving many of us without support of their products. Returning this one, too.
