I followed product instructions for black dye. Gives a range of powder to use -- I used the low end -- my final project ended up more blueish grey than black -- but still looks good. If you want a black black -- use the full amount. I have plenty of soda ash to use for next project. I would buy these dyes again.

Great dyes easy to use, instructions were clear. Packing was not great, the soda ash was not sealed well, it was leaked inside the package.

A really good experience in tie dying. I had used other brands that didn’t start out as bright and faded quickly. This is a much better product. I did wash the shirts first with the included soda ash. I added urea to the dye also. Definitely worth it!

The black color is not dying well at all, but the other colors are.

I’ve had a good time tie-dying with this kit! I have done four tees and have plenty of die left for more. Read and follow the directions, look up some videos and you’ll be fine. My bag of soda ash was broken but the powder was contained in the package and I didn’t lose any.
