I got this to use with my holiday decorations. It works perfectly. If the directions are followed you do have to be aware that if water gets into it, he will either short or cause GFCI outlets to trip. When using outdoors, it’s best to make sure the plugs are facing down and are clear of the grounds of water and mud don’t splash up into them.

Been using these to control irrigation for the garden for a couple of years now and they’ve never let me down. Just purchased a 2nd one and the first is still working flawless

Alexa Integration Rating: Installing this plug required using the Kasa App on my phone. I already had 5 fully functional Kasa plug in place. When I tried to use the Kasa app to install the new plug 4 of the 5 existing plugs ceased to work. I spent hours getting the 4 plugs and the new plug to work. The fifth plug doesnt show up on the Kasa app but it works perfectly. Remote Control Rating: I dont know if the problem is with Alexa or Kasa but sometimes both plugs on the new Kasa plug turn on when I have only asked for one to turn on. The names for the plugs may be too similar so it could be a user problem.

Super easy to set up. The app could be a little better, but once you mess around with it a bit its simple. I havent tried the Alexa Integration yet. Im using it mostly for an outdoor light timer so that feature wasnt important to me. The build quality and materials are solid. All the seams lined up well, no gaps and the electrical core junction, plug and casing are well sealed and up to the task for an outdoor installation. The plug covers could be a bit more substantial, but since I have both plugs occupied full time, thats not important to me. I was impressed with the strength of the signal reception. I was able to install this inside a metal exterior wiring box for a nice clean look and still have a perfectly strong signal.

The plug works great and pairs very well and easily. You will need to have kasa app and the integrate with Google home if Google is your preferred app. There have been few instances when Google assistant has complained about unable to run the routine as the device wasnt responding. Its not a big deal and its fairly common with the current iot technology. The device has survived a freezing rain, snow and 10f. So I am happy with its performance. However, my biggest frustration is that the manufacturers chose to put the max load on the plug as 1/2 hp electric motor. It takes special kind of intelligence to come up with that. Anyways, after a painstaking 30 mins of search, I found that I can plug up to 1400W. If you are unsure, get a load meter to measure before you plug in your load.

This is the best plug i found after searching for a month that do not need base to communicate with plug and works really well with apple HomeKit; best part is individual plug setup with exactly what is it for so you never gets confused with which one is for which device

With this product you do not have to wire an indoor switch, to turn the power on to an outdoor light. You dont even have to leave the building..

My entire house is set up with TPLink smart devices, controlled conveniently from the Kasa the app. I have about 5 cameras, light switches, and also these plugs. The operation works great. I love them because I can control each of my plugs independently. I have bought a few of these to set up my elaborate Christmas display each year. I also have two for year-round use on outdoor lighting. They have held up very well. Overall great product!

I bought both the Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug AND the Smart Light Switch. I like them, they work great and dont require Googles Alexa Spy on you device. The app is pretty good, Im actually impressed with it. Some features that are missing though...hint hint Kasa development team...setting a schedule for a group of devices. It already lets you group devices together and turn them all on and off manually as a group, but it does not let you schedule that way, so you have to set the schedule individually for each. ALSO it would be nice if we could add + or - minutes to Sunrise & Sunset times on the schedule. I live in the Pacific Northwest. Especially in winter on cloudy days, it gets dark well before sunset and stays dark after sunrise. Id like the lights to come on 30 minutes before and stay on 30 minutes after.

Now my patio light are voice controlled rather than manually turning them on
