KAVU Rope Bag - Sling Pack for Hiking, Camping, and Commuting

I love this bag. It is the perfect size and is very comfortable. I love the bright pops of color it has and love the rope along style.

First, I will tell you about the off brand bag. I was introduced to sling bags through a cotton Unionbay one I found offline (the tan one) and I loved it. That is, until the light fabric began to stain, fade, and lose shape and the lighter strap dirtied quickly as well. The front pocket is cheap velcro and always opens on its own. An okay bag, but you get what you pay for. Now the Kavu...ohhh boy....it is much nicer. I got mine used, but even right out of the bag it is such a sturdy canvas! The velcro on the pocket is high quality so it stays shut, the shoulder strap is secured in a bundle, theres even a tie on the strap length to keep you from walking around with a tail. In conclusion, I love this style of purse. Its like a black hole of storage space on your back and it stays out of the way when walking...but it if you have a choice PICK THE KAVU.

Print is fun/unique and true to pics online. Two main pockets one is smaller than the other but fits my full size wallet just fine.

I have always had issues with buying either purses or backpacks. Backpacks are really sturdy, but a pain to bring around in public because they are either banned from places like the movie theater, or people look at you like you are about to shoplift any time you enter a retail store. Now, every time Ive owned a purse, I always end up trashing it within a few months. I like to do lots of outdoor activities and I carry lots of random items that spill easily (like art supplies, make-up or food) and even though I have roughed around with this quite a bit, it has still stayed in-tact beautifully three-months later. I have washed it in the washing machine after spilling protein shake on it and it still looks practically brand new. I have taken this so many places, even though it is technically a backpack it lies just in that sweet spot between purse/backpack that you can take it into most places that would otherwise ban backpacks. I am thoroughly impressed, and plan to buy more in different colors to match the occasion.

Favorite Feature You Might Overlook: elastic band to roll up/contain excess strap length! Its a pretty minute feature but a thought one. It makes for a tidier look and makes the bag that much more unobstructive. I love this bag and receive compliments on it all the time. It is comfortable to wear strapped across the front or back and frees up hands nicely. I finally caved in and purchased a new slingbag since I broke my foot, take my dog to work to me every day, and was trying to juggle everything and an unwieldy pair of crutches. This is a super convenient style bag in general but this is my favorite sling bag Ive owned to date. The pattern is super cute! Very sturdy material and construction seems wonderful. Looking forward to getting lots of wear out of this bag.

I love this bag! It has just the right amount of compartments. It is so comfortable to use as a cross body bag or a shoulder bag. And I love the print I picked although it does come in an almost endless number of prints.

This bag is the perfect adventure bag. I would highly recommend this purchase. I have been able to take it hiking, skiing, and for everyday use. The hands free crossbody element makes it a perfect bag for anything. At first I was worried it may be too small but on a arrival I was able to fit my laptop and several notebooks. I am so happy I made this purchase and encourage you to as well!

It came in very new and was in a really good condition. Not to mention, it came really fast too (I opted for the express international shipping, really worth the money). The bag really is as good as it was advertised to be. Its sturdy and the inside is spacious enough for me to dump all of my necessities in without much difficulty (500ml bottle, umbrella, a 500 page book, long wallet yada yada yada). Its really good for travelling and those who prefer to carry light when they go out and about. Its compact, feels snug on the back and its very easy to access (just sling the bag to your front and voila, you can reach all of the different compartments without having to remove the bag from your body). I find this last feature especially useful in crowded places because I like to be able to see my bag in front of me and know that it is safe from intruders, if you know what I mean. Overall, I am really satisfied with my Kavu rope bag. Might be getting myself another one soooooooooooooooon~ But just a note of precaution to the people who are considering to buy this - the colours of the bag as shown in the pictures does not 100% reflect the actual colour of the bag in real life (I bought the Gold one thinking that it was gonna be in a darker shade but it turned out to be a teeeeeeny bit brighter than what I originally had in mind T________T BUT OH WELL~ Its all good now).

Exactly, what I was looking for to hold my stuff while on shore excursions from a cruise. The color is nice and the bag is very well made. Although,I can not figure out why one of the zippers is so small for one of the front small pockets. Not a deal breaker because I can always see putting my camera lens cap and/or my pancake lens in it for safe keeping. I thought the yellow of the zipper would show more but it does not. I like it that way but some might want the yellow to show more and might be disappointed that it does not. I love the padded back to keep things from eating into your spine. The strap is large enough for almost every person out there and seems very strong. 5 total pockets. 1- opens for compartment the full size of the bag. 2-opens other side for a compartment half of bag 3- Inside of largest compartment small zipper pouch 4- cell phone size velcro pocket on front. 5- large pouch type pocket on front with too small a zipper. Overall I really like the bag and it is perfect for my trip.

I had been researching the Kavu rope sling bags for months and was drawn to the bag because of the rope handle and good reviews but the high price when compared to the Meru sling bags prevented me from buying one. I purchased one on Black Friday when the price was below $30 and was very disappointed when I received it. First off, let me say that I own two Meru sling bags, the cheaper of the two brands. The Meru bags have better inside compartments and more durable material. I expected the Kavus rope sling handle to be comfortable but the rope is stiff and brittle feeling and looks cheap. The Kavu bags zippers arrived faulty and the zipper separated leaving the bag open even though it was zipped closed. The fabric feels less durable and cheap, like a childs school backpack. The Kavu bag is slightly larger than the Meru bag but its higher price tag is not warranted. Admittedly, the Kavu bags are more beautiful looking with all their colors and patterns but the quality doesnt stand up to the reviews from my comparisons. Sadly, the Kavu rope sling will be going back for a refund. Do your research and dont overlook the Meru sling bags.
