> 3 dayI was using a finer diameter solder for my home projects, but found that I was wasting too much. This .050 diameter seems to be ideal for most PCB and wire tinning needs. As ever, Kester has nailed the smooth and consistent flow of the solder. Im using less now because I have more control of the flow. For everything I do around the house, the 60/40 ratio is perfect. Once you go Kester, its really hard to settle for any other brand.

Greater than one weekNot much to report here - I have used Kester 44 solder for 60 years. Number 44 is an old formula that contains lead, so if you are doing work that requires lead-free, choose a different product. The rosin flux cleans easily with solvent. If you need no-clean, choose a different product. Number 44 remains my favorite because it is easy to work with, makes reliable joints and is easy to clean.
