Love this outlet tester, it’s great to use for beginners when replacing outlets as it shows you exactly what is wrong with your outlet so you can troubleshoot! But definitely do your research prior to doing any electrical work and wear your proper PPE, too! This helped me when I was trying to work on updating my outlets in my older home and when using it realized that the previous homeowners did their electrical incorrectly and it wasn’t up to code… I bought this to check beforehand before doing anything and did my research and went to work and now it’s all good and up to code until I get all the electrical updated by a professional electrician much later on!

Cheap, rugged, reliable, easy to use.

I previously gave little thought to inverted outlet wiring. Now I always check it and it there is a problem adjust the bid accordingly. Technology is becoming more critical and if a plug is set up to accept AC voltage in a specific direction then it will be important to you as well. Well worth the money.

After 2 months of use, the prongs are now loose and it no longer gives accurate results. Stay clear of this one.
