This is definitely not a puzzle set I would have thought about getting for my kids normally. My sister-in-law ended up requesting one like this for her child and it was such a good price and looked like a good product that I bought one for my kids as well. My older child is 4 years old and likes it because it is easy, but he got bored with it after putting the puzzles together twice. My younger child (2 years old) loves this puzzle. Its challenging for him because the pieces can be difficult to actually put together, but not so much that he wont try it again. Every time someone new comes over he has to show it off and see if they will put it together with him. Even if he isnt putting the puzzle together he is usually trying to talk about something on there and learning or reinforcing colors, shapes, numbers, etc. It is a terrific starter puzzle for a 2 year old!

I gave this puzzle to my girlfriends three year old grandson, he loves it, he was putting it together all by himself and I think it’s a good learning toy. She said he plays with it a lot.

We have two boxes of these puzzles and ordered a third for a gift. My daughter loves them! She is almost 3 1/2 and while the easier of the two are too easy now, she still enjoys doing them independently. For a while she needed help sorting them into the correct puzzle, but now she can look at the backside and see which pieces go together. The pieces are durable cardboard, and the pictures are engaging. They are a nice step up from the shape puzzles she had when she was younger. I would definitely recommend.

Good sequence of increasingly more difficult jigsaw puzzles for a toddler. Took my daughter about six months to work up to the eight piece puzzle (with very little use, just cognitive development), but once she did it was quickly very boring for her and we discarded it.

Great puzzles! As you can read, the box consists of 4 puzzles: - the turtle, made of 2 pieces - the fish, made of 4 pieces - the octopus, made of 6 pieces - the whole scene, made of 8 pieces On the back of each piece it is written the number of the puzzle, it is part of. For example 8, so that piece belong to the whole scene made of 8 pieces, or 4 so you know that that pieces is a part of the fish puzzle. It is actually useful to distinguish pieces from puzzle 6 from puzzle 8. My daughter (3 years old) can easily make all the puzzles up to 6, sometimes she needs some help with the 8 piece puzzle though. The quality is great and the design is cute. To be honest, I would have preferred having the whole scene different from the other three (so that it does not include the other three designs in it) because I think it could have been more interesting..but my daughter likes it and thats what matters. It is definitely good for either boys or girls.

This is the best introduction to jigsaw puzzles ever! Each animal progresses in difficulty until the the child reaches the level of putting it all together. As a former teacher and learning disabilities specialist, I could not have deigned a more perfect tool to teach the concept of jigsaws. Each individual animal puzzle is clear and uncluttered. The final 8 piece puzzle includes the same shapes and pictures simply joined together to include a more complex background and complete from picture. I would buy every single set in this series but for the exorbitant cost of the other sets available. $40 + for a childs cardboard puzzle set is too steep for me. However, I do believe the design in the development of these puzzles is priceless. It truly deserves the 2012 Seal of Excellence! However, if you are lucky you can find more of TLJ puzzles at TJ Max for a better price, and TLJ sells direct on line for a better price. Pays to shop around on this brand!
