> 3 dayUse the “cloth pins” to narrow down to the bad bulb, and there it is. Takes a little time and patience, but works very well.

12-04-2025I bought 3 180 bulb LED lights from Sams 3 years ago and after year 1 started to have all sorts of problems with them. They were expensive and really nice looking when working so I didnt want to trash them. This LED tester seemed worth a shot. A bit on the expensive side but well worth it in the end. Im a BSEE working in computers so technology almost always comes easy to me. I read a few lines from the enclosed instructions and within an hour or so I found 11 bad bulbs and fixed all three strands of 180 now working lights (I only had 13 spares so whew) anyway the lights look great and Im a very happy customer. The testing can be a bit tedious especially when locating multiple bad bulbs that knock out a large amount of lights. I was able to find half the bulbs easily (often they are the 1st or last in a strand that is out) and on the difficult ones it took some time but sure beats randomly pulling one out at a time to see if its the one... I attached a pick of the lights (wrapped around the palms. Thanks!

12-04-2025This light tester saved 5 of my 6 strings of icicle lights! I didnt know how well this would work with icicle lights but it turns out it works great and is very easy to use. When I pulled my lights out this year 5 of the strings didnt fully light so I bought a couple more strings of lights. As I was hanging one of the old string of lights half of that string went out which now equaled 6 total strings that didnt work. I already had it on the house and didnt want to take it down so we decided to get this tester. I tested it out on one of the strings not on the house and BOOM right off the bat I fixed a string. I eventually got on the roof and fixed the string while it was still attached to the roof. Over all I was able to fix 5 of the 6 strings that didnt work. One string even had ALL of the lights out and I was able to fix it! The bulb tester works great and the bulb remover on the end is a finger saver! Soooo glad we bought this! Now Ive pulled all the working bulbs out of my string I couldnt fix and Im going to use those bulbs for replacements down the road. BUY BUY BUY this tester!

> 3 dayI was easily able to repair 3 - 25 ft sections of dual color LED Christmas lights. If I had to replace these lights, it was going to cost me $58 each set with today’s inflated prices. This tool is well worth the money. I would recommend watching YouTube video on how to use this if you are a beginner like I was. I feel like a pro now!

> 3 dayI hate hate hate Xmas lights. I hate that when one bulb goes out, you have to spend ages finding the bad one. This amazing simple tool cut that process down to 20 minutes. I had to check 5 strings of 100 lights. I found bad 8 bulbs and 1 torn wire. This set had the pod replacements for the torn wire. Such a life saver. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

> 3 dayYear after year we have tons of icicle lights that all of a sudden won’t work after being stored. After years of purchasing new sets and wasting so much money we decide to try this and it is so helpful. We were able to save about 80% of the strands that weren’t lighting up by pinpointing dead bulbs and replacing them. It’s tedious work but worth it.

> 3 dayIt does exactly what its supposed to. At the end of the season I had 3 strings of lights that only had half of the bulbs working. I was ready to label the strings and try to hide the dead spots next year. It took a little while to get the hang of it, but by the last strand it only took 15 minutes to find and fix the problem. I actually had 2 bad bulbs on that strand. I cant imagine how long it would have taken without this. Now all of my lights are ready to go for next year. The clamp tester and bulb tester both work great. I didnt get a chance to try the fuse tester and the bulb remover was not the right size for my external light string.

> 3 dayThis didn’t work for me on a large string of c6 LED bulbs as some bulbs flickered so faintly it was difficult to isolate. I imagine it would work better on small bulbs. Also I’m buying shorter strings going forward as it will be easier to fix.

> 3 dayI was very frustrated using this tool with my LED lights. First of all, my string from Menards had not one, but three wires connecting each bulb and I had to test all three each time, so that was time-consuming. After narrowing it. down to one bad bulb, I tried swapping that out with a good one from the end of the light string. Well that didn’t work- turns out you need to have working bulbs in ALL the sockets in order for your string to work. I think the written instructions could have used more illustrations as they were hard to follow, but watching the YouTube video helped. Also, I don’t think the black pods would work with three-sting lights like mine because I couldn’t tell which wire was live. If you’re a handyman or good with electric repairs, this is your tool, but the layperson could use a little more guidance.

> 3 dayGot this yesterday, have fixed two long strings of light and one string of lights on an animatronic reindeer. Paid for itself in under thirty minutes of use. I highly recommend watching the how to use video on the companies website. I had previously tried multiple fixes to include a multimeter and a non contact electrical tester with no luck. This thing is awesome and does what it claims to do.
