> 3 dayThis is a nice kit for a Lego fan whos not into spaceships, castles, etc. Add the VW Bus and the MiniCooper and youve got a nice fleet for your Lego family! The design of this model does a pretty good job of making square-ish elements morph into the round-ish shapes on the classic Bug. As a former owner of several Beetles, building this set brought back fun memories. The build is separated into 3 modules, with pieces for each in numbered bags; I didnt bother doing any additional sorting, it was manageable as they had it. You get some unique Lego elements to add to your parts collection, and of course the vibrant blue pieces are nice. I was pleased with the sturdy feel of the finished car---its not as delicate as some models, with only a couple of small bumper parts prone to getting knocked off. Lots of nice details in this model. Doors swing wide, seatbacks move, hood and trunk open up, roof pops off. The air-cooled engine is properly placed in the rear, with the spare tire up front. The roof rack holds a loaded cooler and surfboard, so youre set for a day at the California shore (assuming you can drive stick, no automatic transmission here)!
