Lust for Life [CD]

Each of her albums are relatable but completely different. I love her evolution. from Born to die and ultraviolence... Lust for Life. (I personally enjoyed honeymoon but I understand those who didnt find it that interesting.) Shes opened up in recent interviews when she talks about the very real stuff she had going on in her relationships. Each song is entrancing. At first, I didnt like some songs and I was standoffish but now that I have it and just have it on a playlist I became fond of the others too. Some more then others. However, I thought the structure of the album was weak, unlike the very organized born to die and ultraviolence. It lacked personality in my opinion. I think after the harsh born to die / ultraviolence moral criticism, Lana wanted to touch on subjects that she had previously criticized for regardless of the years that went by and the moral growth she developed. However, while trying to make an album to redeem her name, she definitely was misled. She had been developing the album for over a year so I can imagine how many songs she wrote while in the studio that would be more fitting, but in wake of the political crisis and its effects on hollywood, she felt the need to change her artistic style. Dont get me wrong, I love a happy Lana! I dont want her to be depressed, nor do i want all of her music to be depressing! However, this album feels somewhat superficial but critics are still so harsh on her to this day so I understand why she rerouted the theme. Amazing album regardless!

This album is most likely my 2nd fav from NFR! So many bops at the beginning of the album!!

Love Lana Del Rey.. have every album. This one has some gems that take me back to what I love about her voice and style. The opener Love is a great track, the tittle track Lust for Life with the Weeknd is one of my favorites, I also really enjoy the Weeknds music so thats no surprise and their last collab prisoner was great too. 13 Beaches is by far my favorite song on the album, its classic Lana, loved it the first time I heard it and have replayed it more than any other track. White Mustang is also a favorite of mine.. being a Mustang guy/owner myself Lol. I also love In My Feelings.. Cherry is great too, again that style/sound and production are what I love about Lana. Now as a hip hop fan, I enjoyed Summer Bummer but I feel like this song could of been so much better.. Asap Rocky was good, Playboy Carti is trash and honestly the chorus on this song is kind of a let down but I still like the overall sound and the production is great. Groupie Love was also a good collab with Asap Rocky. Pretty much, I loved tracks 1-8.. 9-16 kind of lose me.. Lol. Still though, overall a great album. Also, as a fan of Lanas music, its nice to see her with that giant smile cheesing on the cover heh.. she looks gorgeous with that smile.

She’s got a great voice, most of her songs are thought provoking & she’s got that sadden sound, I enjoy ... true artist in her field // ordered other CD’s of hers

Not a bad album, but not a great album either. Im not as overwhelmed by Lana Del Ray as I was when she first appeared on the music scene. At that moment--she was unique and a far cry from what many others were listening to or radio stations were playing but now--frankly, this release sounds no different than her others. In fact, the remixes are the only releases that show any real growth and at that point we have to give credit to the producers & engineers who mixed them. I mean how many times can you do the same torch song over and over again? Apparently quite a few when people keep buying them. Nevertheless, I will purchase the album just as I will probably purchase her next album but Im afraid it wont be long before it finds its way to the back of the stack. Im sorry--but nothing on the album jumps out at me, except her smile. Thats probably because theyve done such a good job of merchandising her.
