> 3 dayIf youre going to make MatchFit groves, this is better than a normal bit. I use it without pre-cutting a channel, because I figure Im only ever going to use this bit for Matchfit grooves, so Ill use it for those and use other bits for other projects. You WILL need to buy or make a height jig, as I have done (see photo). Just make a few passes through 1 material using the bit set at different heights until you get the height where it just makes a smooth top but no higher. Then drive the router through a piece of wood and widen it to get your height profile. Or you can buy the same thing from MicroJig for $15. But youll need it to get the same height every time. Your next danger is burning. Set a high speed and move as quickly as you can. I have a 1/4 bit, and Im sure that with a more powerful 1/2 router it would be easier to burn less. It takes some practice, and you have to keep moving. If you do keep burning, run a channel first to open up the path, then come through and dovetail it.

> 3 dayMy second bit. The first one had a thicker shank for my table router. This one fits my dewalt hand router. Made more tracks already with this bit.

> 3 dayI am not a very experienced in router bits, i have a bunch of cheap kits, but this bit is by far the best one i own, i made a MicroJig 360 sled with my new router table that i built. It cut very clean, its design cuts the top edge with a small chamfer, there is very little tear out. I will keep this bit in my preferred pile.
