Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 15” Touch-Screen – Intel Core i7 - 32GB - 1TB Solid State Drive - Matte Black

I bought this product to replace my old Lenovo Thinkpad to write my doctoral dissertation.

I got the 15-inch Ryzen 7 version in grey metal. Ive had the SP2, SL2, SL3, and now this SL4. Its the best Surface yet! Its got better battery life and better thermal performance than my intel-based SL3.

Unparalleled feeling trackpad and keyboard for a windows device. It is the closest thing to a Mac running windows. If you are looking for the best feeling keyboard and trackpad, this is it. Beautiful screen although it is quite reflective.

This laptop is lightweight and has a great feel to it. The area around the keyboard has a non-metallic touch, and its super comfortable. The front-facing camera is only 720p, but I can live with that. It starts up fast and is compatible with just about anything. Id 100% buy this again.

The number of ports are limited. The camera can be improved. It would also be nice to have another camera on the cover like a Surface Pro since there is a chance to host a hybrid meeting nowadays. The screen bezel is wider than their competitors, but it is perfectly fine to me because it is still narrow enough. Although it is a 13.5, the screen appears to be bigger because of ratio aspect MS chose to use. I really like this extra screen space. The ice blue color is just so beautiful beyond words. The Alcantara keyboard is so comfortable and such a joy to type on. It is pretty too. I think the Surface Laptop 4 is an excellent choice for people who prefers a Windows platform.

I like everything about the product. Aluminum body, lightweight, battery charger with USB port. Battery life is very good and CPU power is very good. Face recognition for login is superb.

Great laptop heats up though

Im homebound for ~6 months with 2 broken ankles; the sporadic function of the Chromebook I had was driving me nuts trying to get anything done or keep myself entertained while stuck at home. Bought the Surface after my positive experiences with the one I am supplied with for work and now I am able to get stuff done all day without freeze-ups and rebooting every 12-24 hours. And the configuration options available were mind blowing...it took a bit to decide what it was I actually needed on the unit verses the cost of paying for ALL the options.

Just getting it going, transferred data from old machine to thus one and did a cloud upload. So far im happy with the purchase.

I ordered a new Surface laptop 4 and was sent a used one. I was charged the used price but I wanted the new unit. I like the used laptop but the battery life is not what a new unit gets.
