I love the Abranet system! It requires an extra pad protector, and the disks are more expensive than the paper Mirka disks I was buying before. But the disks last much longer, the sander is able to pick up more of the dust, and I am able to get a much smoother finish on the hard maple I first sanded with these. Before, I stopped at 320 grit because the pads became ineffective (clogged or the grit wore out, Im not sure which) so fast that I didnt think finer grit was even worth trying. Because I bought the 35 piece variety pack of Abranet disks, I bought a 5 pack of the protector pads separately. Now I can sand up to 600 grit, and the finish is glassy smooth. Im glad I got 5 of the protector pads because now I can share samples of the Abranet system with friends.

Havent used this grit yet but the others that I have work pretty good at removing old finish since they dont seem to gum up like normal paper.

When used with an adequate vacuum it is nearly dust free. A true relief.

This stuff is amazing. Adding this to the Mirka sander means a practically dust free sanding experience. Obviously no sanding operation will every truly be dust free, but this stuff is right up there. You have to really pay attention to what you are doing since the lack of dust makes it seem like the pads arent working, but before you know it, youll be through veneer or have a rounded corner. I recommend the abranet abrasives for both the mirka and for woodturning since there is almost sanding dust clog. It is a little more expensive than regular paper, but lasts longer. You get what you pay for.

The discs themselves are fine. But like some others have said, I did not receive 400 or 600 grit even though the images and the box I received indicate I should have. Those were part of the main draw and their absence certainly decreases the value proposition rather significantly.

Sander can vacuum up all the dust. Incredible.

These mesh discs are great for final finish sanding. Fits on my Festool finish sander... no holes to match pattern for vac system. Mesh also minimizes pigtail swirls.

Long lasting. Not scientific, but last about 2-3 good paper sandpaper.

Mesh grit works better than paper. Decent Velcro adhesion. Overpriced for what they are.

I’ve only used them once or twice, but so far I’m very impressed! If they hold up like I think they will, they’ll be a fantastic value. The mesh allows me to use my vacuum attachment which equals no sawdust flying around! The finish was incredibly smooth. I just bought a 6” pad, so now I’ll be looking at 6” sanding discs, and I’ll go with the same brand.
