Havent used this grit yet but the others that I have work pretty good at removing old finish since they dont seem to gum up like normal paper.

If you have a Mirka Ceros (or Deros, I would presume) sander, this is simply the best bet for sanding disks. See my other reviews. The finish achieved with these sanding disks is superior, in my opinion, to paper disks. They seem to last longer, probably a function of more efficient dust/swarf removal and less heat build up.

I really like these mesh discs. Dust collection is excellent, they clog far less than paper discs, they seem to leave a smoother scratch pattern and last longer. The only drawback Ive found is that you need to use a pad protector inbetween the sanding pad and the disc, but thats relatively minor.

Abranet is definitely longer lasting than traditional orbital sanding disks. Its the only abrasive disk i use now. For those of you interested or curious: I did purchase a big box of the Autonet to compare. My observations: stick with Abranet for wood sanding. Autonet does not last nearly as long on wood. Also, you do need to hook into dust collection to gain all the benefits of Abranet, otherwise there will be sanding dust everywhere just like any other abrasive disk.

When used with dust collection it’s superior to regular sandpaper

Just sanded 25 drawer fronts. Impressed on the lack of sanding dust that escaped from around the sander. Did not even have to wear a dust mask which I have always considered mandatory. After going through all grits up to 320, a final wipe down with naphtha found only a little dust. Disks DO last a LOT longer. I would guess 10 to 20 times longer. I normally expect a disk to last through maybe 4 to 6 sq ft. These lasted LOTS LONGER. Highly recommend. Seldom give 5 stars but this product is not only better than expected, it also is well worth the increased cost.

This is the best for using on an orbital sander. Leaves virtually no scratches.

Well, 95+% dust free. I have a Mirka sander with vacuum. This setup gives me great sanding on hardwoods like cherry, with almost no dust. I would bet that any sander with dust collection, and the use of these disks will result in very little dust in the air.

Mirka Abranet is the best sandpaper, hands down. Whether used on my CEROS or hand-held on turning projects, this stuff performs amazingly well. It doesnt clog nearly as easily as any other competing product and heat build-up is kept to a minimum.
