Overall a nice piece. Its a little larger than I thought it might be, but certainly less ADA looking than mounting a horizontal 18 bar by the toilet. This uses the Moen connector system to mount through the drywall...I guess its ok but I didnt use it - I did a remodel and knew where it was going and I was putting in new drywall so I put blocking in the wall to screw into directly. PROs - provides a little more stylish look than a normal horizontal grab bar - consolidates the TP holder & grab bar CONs - a little pricey for what it is - an 18 stainless bar is only about $20...this is around $40 - does NOT include stainless steel screws for mounting directly into studs or wall blocking. I had to buy 6 which added about $5 and an extra trip to the hardware store. Annoying with a $40 bar. - the overall size is a little larger than I realized - its about 13 by 8. By comparison, a Moen TP holder from the Preston line is about 6 x 4. - It does not accommodate Mega toilet paper rolls well. They will rub the mounts and the wall until reduced in diameter. - lack of finish options - they should also make one in the mirror image so it can be mounted on the right side with the opening forward. UNDECIDED - Moen includes their own mounting system - designed to go through the drywall I guess...not sure Id trust that. I mounted to blocking inside the wall instead. - Instead of being welded with the escutcheons loosly attached, this uses set screws and a flange on the bars that mount into the screw mount pieces. It is possible this bar *might* loosen over time...you could avoid that by using thread locker on the set screws, but then you risk not being able to disassemble it later if you ever want to. Its probably fine, as long as you know that if it starts to get loose at all, it is time to pull back the escutcheons and tighten those set screws with an allen wrench. (provided) SUMMARY

Very nice to have a handle and a toilet paper holder in one unit. The design is interesting. It is too short to screw to two standard US studs, so it comes with an interesting mount system. You drill 1 1/4 holes in your wall, then slip the mounts in and pull them tight against the back of the wall, like an oversize molly bolt. Screw the plates on the outside of the wall, then use the allen wrench to tighten the set screws in place to hold the bar on the wall. The wall mounts are quite well thought out. The set screws are the hard part of the installation. Theres very little room between the wall and the trim rings. There are three set screws per post. Tightening each screw with an allen wrench was tedious. After installed, it is sturdy and Im glad to have it. It has saved me from falling several times. I believe the load limit is 250 pounds, so its not as strong as a standard handicap hand rail. Arthritis sufferers will appreciate how easy it it to change toilet paper rolls. Slide it right on, no springing rolls, etc. Much easier plus gives you a safe handle.

We have vacation rental properties and one of the things that happens often is the toilet paper holder is pulled out of the wall. Guests must use it as a grab bar (which a regular holder is not). This combo toilet paper holder/grab bar is the perfect solution. We are replacing any holder that gets pulled out of the wall with these!

We needed a grab bar for our newly remodeled guest bathroom. Because of window placement on the wall side of the toilet and vanity on other side we had limited options. Plus we didnt want a grab bar that screamed hospital grab bar. This little gem worked beautifully. It gives several options for grabbing (pulling or leaning) and works for taller users as well as shorter users. I have had no problem with the paper roll coming off and can still use the oversized rolls of paper. Great solution for us.

This grab bar works perfectly for anyone who needs a little extra help from the commode! Especially someone with a prosthetic leg! The combination reduces having other protruding fixture for toilet paper. Looks nice too!

Absolutely solid device with a discreet appearance. Does not mount to a stud. There is a plastic tether that holds the back piece inside the wall until you connect the front. My handyman was really concerned the backpiece would drop down inside the wall, but once it was installed, it is exactly what I wanted.
