I read the positive reviews on this and I can agree. Our Britax car seat left creases in the leather of our seats, so we gave this a try. It allowed the leather to heal as I had hoped. Whenever I remove our car seat I use leather cleaner and conditioner to keep them soft, so that might also attribute. As far as the Britax Warranty goes, I dont understand what they would warranty and what that would have to do with whats under the car seat or how they would even know. Britax is the company that suggests using a pool noodle to level out the child seat, so what would a mat differ, Britax SELLS the same thing, except its inadequate for seat protection. Some people dont even understand how to install a car seat or fit their child in it, so Im not going to rely to heavily on the internetz for all of my advice. I will say Im glad I did for this product. Thank You to all of the positive reviewers.

I have these to go under all 3 of my children’s car seats. I love that they protect the leather! I did not have them in my last car and you could see the grooves in the leather seats the day that I sold it so they were a must for my new car. Superior to other brands. My ONLY complaint and reason for 4 stars is that they are HUGE. I drive a Ford Expedition EL and they definitely cover ever single square inch of the seat. Not a big deal for my younger two who are still in a 5 point harness, but kind of a pain for my son who is in a high back booster using the actual seatbelt since these seat guardians block the buckle. Not sure how these would possibly fit in a smaller car.

These seem to work really well. Super easy to install (feels weird even calling it install .... you literally just put the loop over the headrest) and it stays in place seemingly forever. Its been six months for us, and I have never had to readjust or fuss with it. If youre using LATCH to install your base, it makes it a bit more of an exercise to find the hooks, but I think that just depends on the car. The one time it was removed for us, we did find a few miscellaneous items that had snuck underneath, but I am sure it is a mere fraction of what would have been under there without it. Also, you know, you have a baby, so things might get a little messy... never going to be able to completely prevent that!

Seat is just to thin that car seat still pushes it into the seat leaving indents in my seat. It does catch food and is easy to install though

The problem with car seats and leather surfaces is due to indentations that the plastic angles of the car-seat make in leather, stretching the seat cover and sometimes even scratching the leather. Took >2 month on my leased car to get back into original shape after just a year install time, so I got worried. I first bought Diono Grip It protector, and although it is sticking to leather well and protects against the scratches, the indentations were still there. So I decided to try this protector, and wasnt disappointed: although BRICA is more expensive than DIONO, it is well worth it. First, the material is really heavy: it is a hard surface, barely bendable, and when you apply angular pressure from one side with sharp object, you dont get the indentation through (DIONO is soft surface, and the plastic presses through it). Second, it is very wide, hence all sizes of seats will fit well. Finally, the blue rubber on the bottom does provide some sliding protection, but not great. No idea if it will stick to leather or make color smudges, - will update my review if it does Note: people complain that these protectors are not safe, because with them the seat may slide sideways during crash. My experience is that you need to tighten the child seat to the actual car seats anchors with a lot of force. In this case it does not matter if these is a protector between these - it wont move. This is really why the soft protectors like DIONO, or no protectors at all, make damage to leather surfaces, but it is how the car seats must be used for safety reasons. After seeing how well this protector is made and the effect compared to DIONO, I bought another for my 2nd car. I definitely recommend this product to protect your leather seats Update (2/11/2014): I am extremely satisfied with this protector. No color bleed from blue stripes, they do provide good anti-sliding effect, and there are no indentations on leather surfaces on either of my cars. This product rocks!

I LOVEEEEEEEE. I have a 5 year old who loves to eat in the car and this has been the best thing to keep my car seats clean. A plus is that its super easy to install and its super easy to clean and once cleaned it looks brand new again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you have kids.

We have purchased five of these car seat protector over the years. First, my husband bought one for his car, as he has leather seats. It worked so well, that he bought another one for his car for our other child. Then, he eventually replaced all of our car seat protectors in my minivan with the Brica Seat Guardian Car Seat Protector. These car seat protectors have rubber strips the prevent the car seat from slipping during quick stops (we live in the country and have had to brake for deer multiple times). Other car seat protectors have allowed fluids to drip down onto the seats, mostly where the belt or latch connects to the seats. Not these ones, there is a lip that prevents any fluids from dripping down onto the seat itself. These car seat protectors are easy to clean up and easy to install, and have lasted several years with our children growing up. We have used these car seat protectors with bothe the LATCH system and with the lapbelt. This works with booster seats as well as now our oldest has graduated from a car seat to a booster seat. I like that there is a lower flap that protects the seat from snowy and muddy shoes. These car seat protectors seem to be waterproof as there have been little puddles from drinks that I have had to clean up rather than soaking through or leaking through to the seat itself. All of our car seats fit onto these car seat protectors with the exception of our latest (and by far largest) baby car seat. The base of this one just rests ontop of the lip of the car seat protector. After securing the car seat properly, there is no movement or tilt to the car seat (just the lip of the car seat protector is now compressed down in that area). We will never purchase another car seat protector again after previously purchasing three different brands, which all had great reviews. With our kids through hockey practices, picnics, multiple long distance trips of 11-20 hours each to Disney World and family living out of state, these protectors have held up and surpassed all of our expectations!
