I was so excited to get this but now I wish I never did! The item came with BUGS!!!!!!!!! The bugs were living inside the crevices and pores of the wood. We had to take out everything and throw out all our hamster toys because it infected each one of them. You wouldn’t see the bugs at first but if you set it and just stare at it the bugs start crawling out of the pores, it was disgusting!!!!!!!!! This is an awful harmful product for my hamster!!!!! This should get NO STARS!!!

One of the sides fell off.. but its fine it benefited me. The other 3 sides are sturdy. Hamster loves it.

This is going to be a Christmas gift fir my daughter’s’ teddy bear hamster... I think she (and he) will be thrilled.

Our Syrian hamster absolutely LOVES this house. He stopped using his bed in his basement box and moved everything into this one right away. Hes got a tube coming up from the basement box of his cage, right into the house, and then uses the hole in the roof to go into his other hideaway. You can see in the pictures how he is using the one large room for food.

I cant recommend this product enough! My long-haired Syrian (male) hamster spends all his time in it. He feels safe and secure inside, using the different compartments for different purposes. In one hell usually sleep/nest in, in another hell store his food, and in another, hell use as his bathroom. The only problem you might have is not seeing your hamster out of this! (But that only means they love it so much) You can also use the top lid to add toys and treats on top that your pet can play with when they come outside.

Both my Syrian and dwarf love their wooden hide out. My Syrian has the large hide and my dwarf the small hide. Perfect for their respective sizes.

I bought two of these for my syrians. Decided to go with the more expensive name brand because of the reviews. The one is missing one of the pegs that keeps the lid secure, which isnt a huge deal. However, I put this in my hamsters cage on Saturday and now he has an injured eye. Nothing about his cage has changed besides adding this. I think his eye hit a splinter and damaged it (and I got a splinter when just taking the lid off to see how he looked this morning). I know it comes with sandpaper, but a brand new product should be smooth enough to use without severely injuring a pet, needing sanding only when the animal chews it. I brought my hamster to the vet and it was determined that he needed his eye enucleated, but he ended up dying from the stress before they even started the surgery. In terms of the things above that it wanted specific ratings on: unfinished wood is never going to be easy to get urine out of, but I did buy the cork cover too. Assembly was easy minus the missing part, which also affects the sturdiness.
