> 24 hourDoes a great job cooling the processor, but is a pain to install and you better have a large case.

> 24 hourReplaced the stock 2700x with this Noctua. The AMD looked cool with the LEDs but the sound under load was a bit harsh. Im able to set the RPMs on the Noctua to a level that doesnt need to ramp up under load but still has a smooth and quiet sound.

> 24 hourIt really is huge. I underestimated the actual size of this cooler; however, it looks fantastic and really fills out even big cases where liquid coolers dont (though this aspect is purely preference).

> 24 hourWhen I opened the box, I thought ups mistakenly shipped a lawnmower carboretor to me. This thing is massive. Make sure you go to pc part picker and make sure this thing is compatible with your other pc parts. I use this for my Ryzen 7 1700 and keeps it really cold. The fans are almost completely silent. Installation was a breeze. U just have to figure out which brackets it mounts on will work for your motherboard. It comes with two sets of brackets

> 24 hourI just built my first rig and used the Ryzen 7 1700. Doing various stress tests I felt the CPU was getting a bit hot with the stock cooler, even with the fan running at full bore, which is between 2700-2800 RPM. So I decided to upgrade the cooler.

> 24 hourI cant believe the size of modern heatsinks like this one. It does an incredible job of wicking away heat from a Ryzen-1800X. However, with a micro-ATX motherboard, and the heatsink fans in blowing configuration, one of the fan positions overlaps spatially with the system RAM, so you have to mount the fan high, which means that my particular computer case wont close. Consequently, I had to mount the fans in suck mode rather than blow mode, which causes some whistling in the heatsink fins when the fan revs up. Also, this heatsink is so big that the metal of the heatsink actually contacts the back of the PCB of my graphics card, which would short the card out if I didnt insert a piece of thin plastic between the heatsink and the video card. Really the heatsink risers need to be asymetrically leaning in one direction, so they can be directed away from RAM, and the whole size of the heatsink needs to be reduced by half an inch in every dimension, to prevent short circuiting PCI cards. Your mileage may vary, of course, depending on your motherboard, video card and case.
