I struggled with hormonal acne and saw that this product was recommended for an off label use to treat it. I was in the middle of a nasty breakout along my chin when I started this product. Within 2 days all my active pimples started to dry up and go away. After about 10 days of use I didn’t have any break outs. I take one 500mg capsule three times a day (with every meal). This product has done an amazing job at keeping my hormonal acne away.

Long story short, I’ve been taking this L-lysine for about 8-9 months only once a day and sometimes I’d skip a day when I forgot. I went to the doctor for my bloodwork a little over 4 months ago and it came back that I have high cholesterol. That’s very weird for me because we have no family history of this in my family, I’m a good weight, exercise and eat a pretty healthy and balanced diet. After researching and then calling my doctor with the news, I stopped taking L-lysine because I found that it can raise your bad cholesterol and it should only be taken 3-4 weeks MAX. It’s been a little over 4 months now and I’m happy to say that my cholesterol is now back to normal, the only change I made was I stopped taking the L-lysine supplement. I’m sure it can help people, but I do warn you to only take it for up to a month and then take a long break in between. Hopefully, no one has this happen to them and hopefully I have no permanent damage or issues later on because of it. God bless!

I am a 28 year old male, who has had canker sores since I can remember. I seem to always get them whenever I binge on sugar (candy/soda) and sometimes will get them 2-3 at a time and they would last for weeks. I have tried all of the home-remedies over the years, some work better than others but nothing has really been my cure. I read online that Lysine helps some people with canker sores, so I figured I would give this a shot since nothing else seems to work. I actually purchased this bottle almost a year ago and have been testing it out since then. I take these pills maybe 1-2 times a week just normally, but the moment I feel a canker sore coming on, I take 3 capsules a day for a few days and every time the canker sore goes away without fully developing! You canker sore people know the drill, you get that feeling in your mouth of a canker sore coming on, and within a few days its a full-blown pain in your mouth for weeks to come. This has worked for me about a half dozen times now where the canker sore just doesnt develop! If you have tried everything else but Lysine, then I recommend trying out this solution. It may not be your cure-all, but I never thought I would find mine until stumbling on Lysine and am so relieved that I did.

This maybe a miracle! Ive had cold sores for years and I hate them. I tried otc and prescribed ointments, but they still last for a week and look gross. Im totally sel-conscious. Now that I have kids, Ive become overwhelmed trying to make sure I dont infect them. This led me to explore any alternative I could find on the internet. I tried many things, but L-lysine is the first product that should immediate and remarkable improvements. Now as soon as I feel the tingle, I double the dose. Sores barely become noticeable and last for a day it two!!! Its amazing. I cannot recommend this product enough!

Im fighting with herpes on my lips and even on the nose for decades. The only remedy is Acyclovir, and lately I had to take 800 mg twice a day to stop it when Im getting sick, or treat when I missed it starting. After Ive bought L-lysine, Im taking 500 mg of it twice a day for a month now. First few days I took one pill only to see how Ill react to it. No side effects, but I felt that a cold sore healed faster. Then for several weeks I had to continue Acyclovir, but slowly decreased the dose, and now I take only one 800 mg pill occasionally, even after I had bronchitis treated with antibiotics (which guarantees cold sores after). It definitely works. A bottle is huge, 250 capsules. I have almost 200 left, it is enough for 3 more month. Ill add to this review how things will be going after another month or two. If I can get away from Acyclovir, Ill be very happy. It is damaging for joints if you have arthritis.

I purchase many NOW products. Tried this lysine product on cats who take this supplement daily, vital for their compromised immune systems. Unfortunately, it did NOT work well, as with most other lysine brands. The cats started showing symptoms of their chronic infections a few days later. After putting them back on the other (more expensive brand) they went back to remission.... Every family member takes 2,000 mg of lysine daily, so we rather pay a little more money on a brand that works well on cats as our control group. To be fair to NOW, the fact that their lysine does not work well in cats, does not necessarily mean that it will not work well in humans -but for me, it is a semi-scientific observational indication to stay on a brand that works well in our control group

In early 2019, I started getting horrible canker sores CONSISTENTLY in my mouth. I’d have them on the sides of my tongue, inside my cheeks, and behind my lips. Even a tiny accidental bite to my mouth would cause one, and it would be huge and painful and last for weeks.
