OLFA 9mm Precision Utility Knife (XA-1) - Multi-Purpose Retractable Precision Knife w/ Fiberglass Reinforced Handle & Snap-Off Blade

used to have the metal version of these, which i really liked and was worried these would be flimsy, but I was wrong, these are tougher than they look. I see know it says they are made of fiberglass...that explains it!

The Olfa utility knife is amazing! I needed a really sharp, really safe tool. What a find!! It deserves all of lthe accolades from the reviewers who have used this product. Now I am chiming in with high praises as well. The safety feature is in place as the blade is moved forward, for this extremely sharp blade is automatically locked in. The Olfa...utility knife is very comfortable, and it is extremely simple to maneuver. For example I am using it to cut cork from a large roll that is 1/16 thick. I have used this knife to cut from left to right and vice-versa. This tool provides complete control, for the blade goes exactly where I want. Additionally, this blade makes it super easy to smooth out an uneven edge. (It is so sharp and so safe!!) I feel very confident now as I see my project resulting in a very smooth, finished product. If anyone feels wary about using a utility knife I urge you to try this one. I have found that it is in a class by itself! The advertising is 100% true, for this knife is exactly as described. I ordered this knife in 2014 and managed to not misplace it because I absolutely love it! It’s comfortable and durable and the quality is great! Got the replacement blades that will probably last me 10 years. Great product

Does the work well. It doesnt has that lock for blade, though. Is not an actual problem because the blade is firm, but I just feel more secure with the lock.

I like everything about this knife. It cuts beautifully and it easily follows a straightedge. The molded fiberglass body has a wonderfully comfortable feel in your hand, better than any of the other little knives. Its bold yellow and black color allows you to see it amongst other things in a crowded pencil cup. Super sharp blade that you just snap off to renew (Mr. Olfa invented the snap off blade). Ive bought all the look-a-likes and thrown them away. I have 5 of these spread around my home, workshop, car ... everywhere. These are hard to find - And Amazon has a much better price than the art stores. If you could have only one knife, this is it.

The only thing I would add is some extra blades to come with it, since I go through lots of blades in short time. The back piece to cut the blade off works well.

This is a great tool to have around. The blade extension mechanism is really smooth. Cuts through cardboard very easily. Im really glad I got this!
