I have used this type of utility knife for a very long time. As a graphic artist or doing some artwork this is a tool that you should always have, it comes very handy and very stable, doesnt wabble, safe for use. I lost my old one which is exactly the same model and I am getting the same one because I loved using it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to use as an art utility knife. Plus the price was a good deal for me and the shipping was fast, got it on time.

Olga makes a lot of nice cutters. This tool has a special highly sharp, highly durable blade choice thats worth it. Those blades make this tool that uses them more valuable by that fact alone. Those blades make any work easier. The tool itself either doesnt lock well or I never learned the proper way to lock it in place. All the larger blades do lock positively and to be honest, it only slips when Im trying to push too hard and its dangerous, so maybe its just me. Ill be sure and read all Instructions when I open this package. Im getting a second one because I keep one with a group of small tools. Id like one to grab from a kit of larger tools. I got tired of asking myself where I put the little olfa blade. Right, with the little tools. Ugh. Get a second one... Now I dont have to make a special trip to get this. Ive got 2. Very nice. Anyway, I gave my brother the whole kit of Olga cutters. He likes them. All are high quality.

Most affordable/high quality snap off knife there is. Buy two. It’s minimal in design and someone (in a bustling art studio) will want to walk off with it. Most don’t know you can safely snap off the blade with the slot at the end of the handle.

If I were paying full retail price on this product (which, actually, I did unfortunately), I would not give it five stars. Ive written a much more extensive review on the SVR-2, which is very similar, except that it locks which this knife does not. Moderate pressure will send the blade back inside the carrier, making it useful for some tasks... Less so for others. But, for the price this gets offered at, a great knife to keep around. The stainless blades that come with these are alright, the carbon steel blades Olfa sells are much nicer. But still, you cant go wrong at this price unless youre doing a lot of heavy-handed tasks.
