Original DVD Drive Replacement for Nintendo Wii Game Console Plug-and-Play Unit

My girlfriends Wii laser lens ended up failing on us one day, so I figured, “Hey! I am pretty handy! I could replace the dvd drive! It was easy and so worth the money! Thanks for helping me fix the Wii, and I recommend this to anyone who wants an easier way than replacing the laser lens particularly.

My Wii DVD drive died and I really didnt want to buy a used Wii and have to replay all of my games to unlock stuff again. I found instructions online that detailed a complete teardown and made the replacement straightforward. Warning that you will need tri wing screwdrivers to take apart the Wii. Once installed it worked for Wii and GameCube games. My Wii will continue to entertain my family for years to come!

While the disc drive was a pain to install due to how many screws are involved, the disc drive worked perfectly! Tested and it was able to read both Wii and GameCube games without any issue, so I was thankful to not have to get a new Wii to play my old games!

Took the old drive out, put this one in and was good to go in about 30 minutes. It’s been about a month and still working good.

Was very disappointed when are second Wii came up with the dreaded disk error. We have so many games we had to repair. Bought this drive and purchased a triwing screwdriver set separately and was able to install this while following a online video of the tear down and Installion with no issues at all. Plug it in and our Wii was back up and running like the day we got it

We have a first-generation Wii from November 2006, and recently experienced failure to play dual-layer Wii discs (Skyward Sword, Metroid Prime Trilogy) as well as loud clicking, grinding, and whooshing sounds when discs would play. We tried cleaning the drive lens, but that only bought us some time. Eventually the drive stopped working completely, so we sought a replacement. The replacement drive arrived in three weeks and was well packaged. We chose it for the low price and positive seller ratings. However, the drive does not play any of our GameCube discs. Wii titles play just fine. Buyer beware -- if you want to play older GameCube titles on the Wii, consider a replacement drive guaranteed to do so.

Shipment was quick, install was easy and it has been wirking flawlessly for weeks now. Best thing is that the family can once again enjoy game night, just like when they were younger.

Bought this to replace a broken drive in my Wii. This arrived in secure packaging. I inspected it before installing it and everything looked great on it. Plugging it in, I had no issues with fitment at all. It worked right out of the box and has never given me any issues! (This even allowed me to be able to play some of my disc games I couldnt reliably play on the original drive!)
