Using it for overnight hiking. Good pack but it is squeaky.

As a first time backpacker I was worried a bit about managing to fit all my gear and consequently if I could handle the weight. After a five mile hike (mostly uphill) and one night stay, I can tell you that this bag gave me confidence that I would be OK out in the White Mountain Wilderness of NM. I had all the essential gear (tent, sleeping bag, food, cooking system, water) plus my cold and rain gear and I had some room to spare. I never felt that it was too heavy because of its anti-gravity system that distributes the weight. I love this pack. Cant wait to go on a multiple day hike!

An Osprey backpack on my vine queue! There is a video from Osprey that shows how to use the backpack. This is just one more in my Osprey arsenal at home. Their all might guarantee is worth the price of admission. And these packs take a beating. One thing I do like about this one is the tie off for the walking poles and removable straps for the sleeping pad. I dont always need a sleeping pad so not having the straps cleans things up for me. 65L is a good size for a long trip and the frame on this pack makes the weight feel effortless. And finally a pack that has the internal hydration sleeve. I have a separate smaller Osprey I use for bike rides but I need one for the major trips. Just make sure it is empty before going through TSA. This should also be a good pack for train travel in those parts of the world that actually have good train service.

This pack was great. I just got back from a 6-day hike in Denali National park. After much research, I purchased this pack to replace an old one that had finally seen the end of an illustrious career. The only complaint I really have is the straps that hold the hip belt area in place slip all the time. So what starts sitting on your hips quickly slides down putting the weight of the pack on your shoulders. I ended up having to tie a knot in each strap to keep it from working loose on our hike. Other than that, no complaints.

I bought an REI 60 Lts backpack but realized it’s not a good option for a beginner like me. Ended up buying this backpack and this is PERFECT!!!
