OWC 2.5-Inch Drive Sled Mount for Apple Mac Pro

2010-2012 Mac Pro computers can run Sierra and High Sierra quite nicely with the read/write speed boost of an SSD. Add a compatible graphics card (Radeon RX 580) and Mojave is an option. The OWC 2.5” sled is the easiest way to go.

This is a solid product. It fits just like the factory sleds for hard drives. I bought this to replace another product that was garbage in my opinion.

It’s really solid and perfectly aligned for an 2.5. Used it to replace my main drive with an ssd.

Works perfectly. Just what I needed! Oh Lord, the price, though. It seems pretty steep for a tiny aluminum frame.

Great adapter for SSDs. But the price on Amazon is a complete rip. Buy directly from the manufacturer.

OWC Mount Pro 2.5 Drive Sled is great.

Unlike Mac Pro tray adaptors, this replacement tray allows a direct connection between the SSD and internal SATA port. There is no intermediate socket, nothing to break or get flakey. Just a nice solid piece of kit. Not the cheapest, but the simplest and most robust SSD tray for 4,1 and 5,1 Mac Pros.

This tool was suggested by a friend and I bought it without checking the label which clearly stated for 2009-2012. So my bad.
