Parcil Distribution PD-452 Emergency Fire Extinguisher Blanket, Large, Pack of 2

This is one of those items where I’ll be very very happy if I never have to use it. I have it hanging on the side of the tool chest in my craft studio. I actually did have a piece catch on fire the other day, but thankfully it went out as soon as I took the heat aay and I didn’t have to bust out the blanket. :-) But I was very glad it was there if I had needed it.

Thankfully, I have never yet had to use this product, but I like how compact it is and it is easy to store/keep on hand for emergencies.

Whats to say? The title says it all! I wont know how it works unless needed. Just Saying.

Great product.

This blanket is a great solution for an apartment or a house, to smother a small fire. It would definitely fit over your stove or any other small area (so its a good idea to keep one in the kitchen); its definitely less messy than the fire extinguisher; its also perfect for camping trips and barbecues. The only thing is, its covered with fiberglass so youd have to put on gloves to handle it without getting those tiny glass shards into your skin. It says you can wrap it around yourself to escape from a burning building but Im not sure what fiberglass will do to your skin in this case and also, its not really big enough to cover yourself fully. But yeah, if you only want to use it for your kitchen or while on a camping trip, itll do the job just fine.

Easy to use

Im sure this blanket has a fire suppression use, but as others have stated, this product is made out of fiberglass, which can cause cancer and cannot be handled with bare hands. That should be made clear on the website. You cannot use this in your house, especially if you have children and pets, and I dont know why the label says it is safe to put it on children and pets. I returned it.

We are using this at a church concession stand and we purchased 2 deep fryers for the counter. We bought this for any possible mishap. Hopefully we will never have to use it but I feel comfortable knowing that I have something to put a fire out without having to use a fire extinguisher

This is a good quality fire blanket. Hopefully I will never need to use it but its great to have in the home just in case.
