Ive been using old Park cassette tool for QR axles and although it works, the tool was always getting cocked sideways in the lock ring since it was made for a quick release skewer. This tool works great for my 12mm thru axles and stays nice and square to the lock ring. One note, I always used a 24mm socket with my old tool but this new requires a 1 socket, the 24mm was too small.

I had to remove my rear cassette to upgrade my hub on my Shimano 11-34 GRX, and no other tool would fit. Soviet-era tough, just like every other Park Tool item. Fits perfectly in the largest of their sockets, and with the torque wrench, it now has the correct tightness of fit down to the Nm rating on the gears. If you like tinkering with your bike, and saving money on maintenance, this is a great addition to your kit. Happy riding.

The way my through axle wheel interfaces with the cassette my old cassette removal tool with only go in about 1 mm and was hard to tighten enough. This thing with the guide pin made a huge difference.

Very sturdy, but the guide pin did not fit my cassette (my fault). I contacted Park Tool and was informed that you can just hammer out the guide pin (which I did) and it worked great.

Overall a solid design. To get the proper torque I used a 1in dewalt 1/2 impact socket and a 1/2 torque wrench. Zero issues, and Muhammad better with todays thru axles having the 12mm stud.
