Playmat Tube - Monster Protectors Prism-Shaped Play Mat Tube - Wont Roll Off Surface and Easy in and Out Design 2-Pack

I play MTG at my school and local hobby shop so this had some light travel (in a backpack, in my car etc.) and worked great, for a time. I soon found that the bottom was actually falling out as it is nothing more than a thin plastic sheet. One would think that because the whole tube is made of good quality plastic that the bottom would be too..but no..this came as a disappointment and has led me to now have to find a new one. I would recommend this if its just being used lightly around your house, but nothing much more than that.

Works well for normal playmats. Bit of a pain to use it for a double sided playmat.

these are great for some of my playmats i have some special ordered that are a lot thicker than most normal playmats so these tubes are not big enough in width even when i roll them as tight as they can but for standard store bought ultra pro playmats these are perfect if you want to keep them in good condition and not have a lot of wear and tear form being carried around a lot this is the way to go i have a pack i carry all my stuff around in and these tubes were pretty long so i shaved about and inch off the top and they still fit my mats just fine and now they will fit in my pack before they just stuck out the top but they are very durable tubes and will keep your mats safe for sure

Ive always used playmats for competitive play, and usually would defer to using the mailing tubes that most of my mats were sent in, until I opted to use this. I was impressed with the design, as it was effective in not rolling off the table, and allowed me to display my mat in some capacity, due to the clear tube. Unfortunately, after only a few weeks of owning the tube, I noticed a small fracture at the bottom of the tube. Now, other playmat tubes (rounded rather than triangular like this one, hence why Id opted not to buy one of those) appear to have plastic caps on both sides, while this has a thin plastic layer at the bottom, and it appears that simple usage and carrying the tube in a backpack caused the crack to appear. Over time, Ive noticed that the crack has effectively rendered the tube useless, as the bottom is on the verge of falling off every time a mat is placed in it. I would gladly recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective storage solution for gaming mats, but the poor quality of the tubes bottom prevents me from recommending this, at least until Monster Protectors is able to release a revision of this with a more durable bottom.

The triangular shape prevents rolling. The plastic is sturdy while remaining flexible to prevent cracking. I take this to card tournaments and dont feel scared anything will happen to my play mat or the tube that transports it.

Its either or here or there with these things. People have complained about the bottom cap falling off, but others have heaped praise over this playmat tube. Personally, I love this tube. Ive had no bottom cap problems with this tube, and Ive placed different and varying playmats into it. It holds up nicely, looks slim and sleek, and seals tightly. Its always entertaining and pleasant to hear a slight pop when I open the tube every time. This tube can hold your playmat securely in an air tight enclosure. Its innovative prism-shape prevents it from rolling off surfaces or just rolling around in general. This is the premier playmat tube that I would suggest to anyone else looking for one; it doesnt matter what color you get it in, these things are brilliant. Im basing this review off my personal experience with the product. To me, its well worth your money if youre looking for something to carry and protect your playmat.

This tube was designed with the idea in mind that it wont roll off the table. It certainly delivers. I see a lot of people talking about the brittle nature of the material, which may or may not be true. However, for those who take good care of their possessions, you should not have an issue with this breaking (obviously). Simply keep it in your bag, take out your mat as needed, and put the tube back into the bag. Mat tubes take up a lot of real estate on a table (those plastic fold-out tables arent very big at all!), so why leave it up there anyway? One thing I noticed about this tube is that it kind of smells weird when you open it up. Certainly not a deal breaker. Also, I found one of these tubes at a game shop for $4.99. I suppose you are paying for convenience on Amazon. I will definitely purchase more of these for other mats.
